67 Fastback, 289, 4-speed. Love it! That’s what dreams are made of.

Great video! I just finished a 4 year resto on a 1968 Fastback, so YT algorithm just served this up for me. Looking forward to following your build. Love the dog bowl idea for the speakers!

Love your channel and I’m primarily a Chevy fan. The 67 is by far the best looking mustang in my opinion. Glad your wife is along for the ride. A couple that can work in the garage together is generally a happier couple. Thanks for sharing and teaching.

Had to come back and comment again. Great idea to seal a metal dog bowl into the recess of the front fenders for speaker enclosures. I was planning on doing something like that but couldn’t think of a suitable container. A stainless dog bowl is ideal. I’ll sound deaden it and mount a front baffle to it and it’ll make a perfect little enclosure. Great idea! Also, I didn’t realize lead shrinks. My body work skills are limited but I helped my dad restore some cars when I was a kid and he used lead instead of bondo. It was the 70’s, fillers were pretty bad and the primer was hydroscopic so you just couldn’t win. At least lead would stay where it was. The safety gear was non-existent too 😮

Thanks for coming back to comment. That’s exactly what I do. A little sound deadening and it’s a great little enclosure.

The new 3m platinum plus filler is non hydrophobic and has corrosion inhibitors so it’s a good product !

Well you learn something new everyday. You taught me that lead shrinks. You see, I own a GMC pickup that was built in 1953, it has lead in quite a few spots and it hasn't ever shrunk the slightest. I've never heard of that happening before. So, thanks. Edit: this prompted me to do some research about lead filler. Here's what I learned. Lead used in autobody work isn't the same from year to year. Your mustang has a different alloy than my truck, this is one of the reasons you may have seen shrinkage and I haven't. Secondly, other than its toxicity the main downfall of lead filler is its tendency to absorb moisture.

That is interesting. It was a learning experience for me. Thanks for sharing your findings.

I loved mustangs ever since I was 5 and I still do (I am currently 16). The 1st mustang I ever saw irl was the s197 (5th gen) mustang. I unfortunately don't own one but, once I get the money, I will get a 5th gen stang. Hell, I told my parents that I don't mind getting the non GT V6 stang

Great car , and honestly , probably the best chick car god ever created . Yes . if there is a god he had his hands in the 67-8 fastbacks . A chick just fits in there so good . Im 6'5" 230 and had one of these for my first car and altho I love the car and made it work , My GF at the time who had a 64.5 as her only car , fit in there so much better and just looked like a more natural fit. Ya gotta be so careful with that roof work buddy and make damn sure there is no tension left in those bends or they will pop in and out after the fact and its just a bad day. Looks like you two are having fun and she will get a great smile maker in the end . I gotta knock that girly color a little tho as it reminds me of finger nail polish 😁😁 . I woulda gone for the FOMOCO "Fighterjet Gray" myself... But shes a Guuuuurl and I get it...... Consider a roller 351 windsor for power , it takes so little to make so much and if you stick it together right it will weigh less than it did from the start and they are just unkillable with relatively stock parts and up to 450 HP . Also , do the borgeson steering box in that thing . I jsut did one in my 70 R code and it really tightens the car up which they sorely need. I cannot tell you how many of these things ive done in 45 years of working on them so its nice to watch someone else do the work while I sit here and contemplate either doing nothihg at all or tuning the carb on the R code...

And what makes you think that. It's stainless so it 's not gonna rust out. If you seal it from both sides .I don't see why it would be a problem.
