Good shit broski 👍💪😎 I've used cement to take place of the block guard on a super low budget build. It works honestly man. You just have to use something like salt first in the jackets to take up some of the space. I'm sure there are DIY threads/ videos of people doing it if anyone is interested. I say F the people who talk shit in the comment section. Keep doing your thing my guy. F the haters, and KZbin techs. I'm a real 25+ year one who has turned wrenches on pretty much everything imaginable and at all different kinds of facilities, from indies, to stealerships, fab shops, my own, etc and I approve of this 100% 😎💯

I've seen those "block guards" shorten the life of the engine by... Distorting the cylinder bores. I usually have the bottom end go first anyway. So sometimes use the b18b type girdle. MAke sure the studs are not all the way bottomed out in block when doin em. They will expand and can crack the block.

You're going to have piston slap because you used standard size vitara pistons, it'll be noisy at idle but it will run like that for a long time. If you're using a Y7/Y8 crank do not rev that thing more then 7.5k or it will definitely spin a bearing. Even 7.5k might be a little high. I hope you got lucky and the deck and block surfaces are flat and true, if not you will be blowing head gaskets over 15psi. Keep the timing in boost low and it should help keep the head gasket from blowing. You probably will not be making 500 or 600 HP without putting bigger head studs in it and machining the block and head surfaces flat, 350 HP is more realistic. Hope this helps.

So hyped to see this build. It's pretty much the setup I'd be running for budget 200-300hp. I hope you have good access to tuners, where I live it's hard to find a tuner. You should check out Nabil tuning for a remote tune. I've always wondered about the maxspeedingrods for these, as it's the only company to make rods for a D15.

@@Ruined4banger I heard they had different journals, but I haven't tore it apart to look. I hear the D15B2 Rods work on the D15B7 cranks. But I am honestly not 100% sure on that.

​@@DariusAK .... All d series rods are the same between d15/16 the last 2 on the engine code is only there cause Americans need a series code. The only numbers that truly matter with a block is the first 3 d15/16. They did have 1 letter after. Like d16b or d14a. But last number is useless.
