My hat is off to the Aquascape crew for building this incredible bass pond in just two days! They are the best in the business and I highly recommend using them for your water feature. Unfortunately, we built this beauty a couple days too soon as Hurricane Gordon did some damage. BamaBass Pond update coming in the next few days!

Exactly! That is to close to home for me. How could you possibly enjoy it in the summertime? Fishing it would be convenient. The other 90% of the time would be mosquitoes fishing for you. Smack and spray. The neighbors must be loving that thing.
@justarandomgamer6309
@justarandomgamer6309 5 жыл бұрын
mosquitoes probably wouldn't be around that much due to the constant flowing water and maybe the fish since they would eat them (maybe i'm not too sure about that so i could be wrong lol(i probably am)) xD

Hey Bamabass, can you make a video explaining the use of different types of fishing line? I don’t understand when to use flouro vs mono vs braid. Thank for making the great videos!

Mono is your standard line that has low visibility to the fish it casts ok and is super cheap it holds it shape from the spool so u get the loops in the middle of your reel sometimes good for bait fishing cause it has stretch but that could be a pro or con Braid which is what I use and is the best in my opinion casts the farthest (by alot) and doesn't hold the loop shape so you dont get loops only cons are high visibility so fish can see it and wind knots which are a huge pain in the ass but if u use a hook and stick it through the loops you can get even the worst wind knot out. Braid has low stretch so you can feel bites alot better you can also fit more on the spool because it's diameter is thin. It is pricey but you can find piscfun spools on Amazon for 20 bucks and you get 500 meters and it works great if u want the high end get power pro but it's more expensive Floro is not a good line in my opinion. It is very thick casts worse than mono and is ALOT of money it also holds it shape more than mono so it causes alot of loops which also affects casting it is mainly used as a leader material and its practicality invisible in water but not too much more than mono I personally recommend you use braided line with a mono leader but make sure you spool a layer of mono on your reel first because braid slips when tied directly to a spool but you can use a floro leader but it's more expensive. Braid = casting durable and zero stretch Mono stretch great for jigging or fishing with bait cheap Floro good for same as mono but not worth it cause difference is small and alot more money but great as a leader material if money isn't an issue I hope this helps I switched to braid 2 years ago and never went back. Also for tiring line to each other look up double uni knot and the fg knot

Ricky Bay Fluoro is better for leader and braid for regular line

Bama bass is more of an entertainment fishing channel than an informational fishing channel. I appreciate that about the channel. There are plenty of channels here on yt to search mono vs fluoro vs braid. But as rule of thumb mono is my topwater line when not slop fishing. If im using a frog on top its typically braid. Mono is visible in water and stretches. Also floats so keeps your bait up. The stretch is good with topwaters as it allow an extra second on hookset. Some like to fish crankbaits or even spinners with mono. You cannot feel the bottom good with mono. It is the most abrasion resistant. Fluoro is INvisible in clearwater up to about 10-14lbs and very low visibility up to 25lbs. It sinks, so not good with topwaters. Very low stretch and can feel bottom good. Good in clear or stained water using any nontopwater lure. Especially good for bottom bumping lures or finesse fishing, but i do flip and bottom bump with 20lb fluoro just as much as i do with braid. Braid is highly visible only good for stained to muddy water. It is neutral buoyancy so will float with topwater or sink well with weight. Zero stretch. Can feel bottom and get snatching hooksets. To me it handles much better. Very low memory and no line twist. Very high lb test vs line dia. Best all around line to use just not in clear water. The more clearer the water the lower you go in lb test. Only line to use fishing heavy cover, or pads, or slop. Braid most expensive, fluoro in the middle, mono the cheapest. All you need to know . . .

I agree with d vb, I love braid to leader. Braid to mono is amazing. Braid to fluoro is appropriate in some conditions

I use fluorocarbon line 90% of the time. It's almost invisible in the water and according to brand very little stretch. You get what you pay for, some is very limp and cast farther than mono or braid but you sacrifice abrasion resistance. Some is harder and is tough as hell but doesn't cast as far but you can never break it off. It's pretty much what your style of fishing is. If you fish open water with crankbaits, mono is best. If you fish thick wood cover fluorocarbon or braid. If it's mats or thick grass braid. If you fish deep rock braid with a fluorocarbon leader.

everyone wants to know if you don't mind telling us a rough estimate of how much it cost to build upon.... people thumbs up this comment so we can get an answer I'm just very curious just in case I want to build one that way I can start saving in my piggy bank

That is a tough question because most of the guys in this video donated their labor for free. So the majority of my cost was in rocks and pond equipment. If you are interested in getting a backyard pond, contact one of the companies listed in the video description and they can give you an estimate based on what size pond you are looking at.

I'd be interested in the additional electric costs with the pump and/or any lights (if you add those). I'm thinking of doing this in my backyard but more concerned with the electricity for a constant pump being used. Local power company gouging people lately lol

I would of put that water Lilly in an buck or drum or something because they will definitely take over a small pond in no time at all. Awesome pond though! Makes me jealous all I have is a little farm pond. Aquascape does a phenomenal job, that waterfall is perfection.... I sure wish I could afford them.
