Ive learned so much from this video. I'm a professional Luthier and you have shown me a different way of doing many things. I love that this is mostly hand built with hand tools, many of which you have made yourself! I love your work..Bravo!!

The camera angles, the slow deliberate hand movements, close ups, obvious talent on many levels, I was totally engaged the entire time. What a great video to capture so much work and skill. Great soundtrack.

I have watched some amazing guitar builds on here, truly beautiful guitars, and I can say with all honesty that this is one of the finest I have seen, and the fact that so much is using hand tools makes it even better, thank you for posting, I'm 70 years o,d and not in good health but you just gave me and hour of bliss and I thankyou for that, from Garry in the UK

I do this as a hobby, too. I started 3 years ago and I turn 80 in April next year. I came out of a 10 years grind of boredom to a happy hobby. I have rebuilt old trash guitars that were mostly bought for $10 each. One of them is from 1923 and I turned it from a 17" Jumbo to a 17" jumbo baritone guitar. A lot of the wood was broken and or rotten and had to be replaced. It takes about 6 months to finish some of them. I wish I had seen this video a few years ago. BTW I am blind in one eye and slowly going blind in the other. I am starting to play pretty well and my voice is getting strong again for singing, too. You are still young enough to do what ever you want to do.

I bought a baritone about a year ago and I love it. It took me a little bit to get used to the chords. I play it church when there is a guitarist and a bass player, the baritone guitar really adds a new dimension to the sound.
@Man_fay_the_Bru2 жыл бұрын
Is it still standard tuning with a baritone?
@johnrichmond77392 жыл бұрын
@Bodiddlydee standard baritone tuning, 2.5 steps down from standard guitar tuning. My open 'E' shape is open 'B'. Sometimes I'll do a drop 'A' like a guitar doing drop 'D'

Indeed, mine is tuned in B

Your skills in guitar building are as amazing as your skills in video producing. The best acoustic build video I've seen so far. Your playful & joyful stop motions are simply amazing. At some point I asked myself "Is there anything this guy can't do with his magic hands?". I especially liked your resonance tests. If this in the background is one of your guitar - it sounds amazing. But there are some cons: using no glasses with fast turning milling cutters is no good advice to your audience and dangerous to your eyes (I use bifocal safety glasses with little magnification areas). Dust of inlays and ebony is really unhealthy, better wear a mask. Your selfmade fret bender sucks, the white thing is not centered and the radius is not even. For an instrument in this quality range, I would never use nickel silver frets but EVO gold or stainless. Best wishes!
