It’s illegal to swim with dolphins in Hawaiʻi. Under the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA) it constitutes as harassing them. * People need to stay 50 yards or 150 feet away from dolphins. Hawaiian spinner dolphins have a cyclical daily pattern. They spend their nights offshore in large groups to feed; in the morning, they return in smaller groups to select bays and nearshore areas around the islands to rest, socialize, nurture their young, and avoid predators. Any act of pursuit, torment, or annoyance that could injure dolphins or disrupt their normal behavioral patterns is wildlife harassment. The maximum fine for violating this is $20,000 and one year in jail. The goals of conservation actions are to not only protect current populations, but to also establish further populations to reduce the risk of extinction.

I was there last year and those dolphins are absolutely amazing. They are usually visit the bay frequently and swim so close to you. Best experience Ive ever had. Good video mate!!!
@ken61404 жыл бұрын
Norbert Rápolthy they visit the cove because it is a safe place for them to sleep as they are a nocturnal species. It protects them from sharks & predators. Human disruption however has driven them away from these coves and you are much less likely to see them now. And they get close to inspect you and I bet they displayed some aggressive behaviors.

If the thumbnail presists to whats in the video, and the tiny pond that is in the video, this would be straight up animal abuse. Considering the water for you is around ankle deep, and the water is so dirty and might not even be the right salinity, you are abusing those poor dolphins. Also, you stole them FORM THEIR FAMILIES and parents right from the wild, and technically can be classified as poaching
@MsStrawberry443 жыл бұрын
