absolutly! If you think about "outside connection" being "a border with an other country", than there is a really need for a settlement. The zig-zag is than the old way to slow down incoming ("hostile" (?)) traffic.
@Keikdv Жыл бұрын
Seeing the view at 30:22, a thought: you could build an old 2-lane 'highway', more winding along and passing the forrest industry at 26:23 an over an old covered bridge to come back to the side where you build the road starting from the outside connection. Than the real straight going 4-lane highway has replaced the old route. Apart from the zig-zag on the mountain side, this route is also better with a 4-lane look and good bridges to let the traffic to/from the outside move smoothly. When you put in a lot of threes, build the old connection, and remove it again, you can see in the future where the old road used to be.

I think train stations around the farmlands and oil and stone would be an interesting look. Rather than busses.
@lucasreboucas8123 Жыл бұрын
And the lines could be used to export the goods as well, so it would be a win/win situation. Also, the railway would be faster than the rural roads, wich gives a ''realistic'' view tho, but is way too innapopriate when it comes to maximize the efficiency
@SipuliSankari Жыл бұрын
It would be much nicer if those rural roads that goes from farm to farm would go in the valley having those old covered bridges and then the highway would have modern bridge. It would be quite realistic and your bus route would be shorter too if you add one old bridge between the farm and ore industry etc. We have a lot of these old rural roads here in Finland and the faster highways go in more straight lines coming relatively close to any industry or farms that those old rural roads might have. Also some rural roads might have a cut in them if the highway cuts a part of so you get two intersections in that highway relatively close to each other where the in between part once was a rural road but now it is replaced with the highway. This last case usually has the rural road to make deep turns near the intersections as the modern highway is obviously not going to go the same line as the rural road once did but will replace part of the old road layout.

Hey, you need to check your train depot! The vehicle depots like trains and busses only have so many vehicles, and eventually, you need to upgrade or get another one that's why your cargo route was complaining you have to many routes and not enough trains

Not positive, but I think the number of busses on a line is based on the distance of the route, not the number of passengers. With 13 busses, they're spaced on average about a 2.3km apart. 52 busses spaces them at .6km apart. Either way, you're probably going to need another bus depot if you keep this line.

I wish you could choose industrial type, or at a minimum be able to relocate them while on pause or something. I have 3 certain industrial businesses that have 20-30 big rigs lining up all over the place constantly trying to load/unload. It causes traffic back ups that never end in that area. Hate to bulldoze them, they are Lvl 5 and very profitable. But even with forcing the trucks to take cut offs and wrap around, it only allows room for even MORE trucks to get off the interstate . Lmao Current population for the city is 46,000.

One thing that drives me crazy in this game is the grid, its sooo easy to break it, and once you break it, its near impossible to fix.
@SineN0mine3 Жыл бұрын
The main thing that helps is using snap to zoning grid and snap to zone cell length, and most importantly turning guideline snapping off. Guidelines will consistently break you grid. Zoning to cell length will keep your grid intact as long as there's room and you've got 90 degree angles. Use snap to zoning grid to draw a new road from your existing grid, and snap to cell length to make keep your lengths compatible with your grid. You can also draw over existing roads with the same type of road to force the game to recalculate zoning. Hopefully that helps! Don't forget to use snapping when upgrading too. Sometimes it's just easier to redraw the grid than to fight it. I really hope they add fences so we can force zoning onto the roads we want instead of letting the game choose which direction buildings should face.

I know you gain more the bigger it is only to a point, based on the resources available (at 1 point bigger is negligible), but those seem like they hardly cover the resource areas. And a serious Q: Your outside connections... is it a different city per side? or is it a different city per connection? or maybe it's area based, like 2 neighbors on 1 side, 1 on another, etc?
