NIce work on a lovely bike! Just to note the tickler button on an Amal depresses the float allowing more fuel to enter; it isn't a pump button and using it like a pump/ pushing it repeatedly achieves is to wear it out. Just hold it down until it floods.

Worth any and every effort. My dad had a B31 from new. Just a great bike, loads of torque, loads of fun and sounded great.

It will always be difficult to kick over an engine when its in gear, the tell tail is the back wheel revolving with the kickstart.

A great feeling when it fires up, and you have the bonus of it ticking over without much fuss.

Couldn't you find an original oil tank ? Just wondered why you fabed one , there seems to be a lot of old parts around , I have a 49 Matchless g80 500, that needs more work, it's cool , that belt drive looks pretty fancy , Cheers.

Hi, it is an original design tank as fitted to eg the BSA Catalina scrambler.

Man it makes me cringe to see you wearing those horrible Crocs trying to start your bike for the first time. Please wear something more protective. Absolutely love your channel. Best regards Ed Skipper.

But they're proper safety Crocs ;)

@@motorbikewhisperer When I took my bike test in 1987 the examiner drew attention to my (ex-Army) boots. "Some lads show up in trainers" he said "...they don't pass..."

Were you able to buy BSF Allen-head bolts for that?
