Building a Bushcraft Fort in the Woods: Start to Finish (time-lapse)

Hey guys! This was video was so fun! I honestly have wanted to build something like this bushcraft fort ever since I was a kid, but when I was younger I just felt so overwhelmed with not knowing where to start, and not having tools (like a sharp a** hatchet). I'm not a bushcraft expert by any means, but now that I'm an adult it feels so good to just be able to mess around in the woods and build life size fairy houses haha. Go easy on me, I know there's a lot of professionals out there who make this stuff for a living - this is my first attempt!
This is meant more as a calm environment shelter - I wouldn't plan on camping in it during a storm. I'd have a lot more work to do on the walls and roof to do that without involving a tarp of some sorts.

My friends and I made something like this when we were around 11 years old. It was great until some older kids smashed it all for no reason. Building it is one of my special childhood memories. We didn't use any cords and our corner posts were living trees. We also built an 'obstacle course' that began and ended near the fort. Thanks for reminding me of my youth.

All I want to say is please, be careful. I've learned a lesson a long time ago, and that was never jump on logs to break them. A sprained ankle is a bitch when you're deep in the woods. Always use the tools you've brought with you to do the job you're trying to shortcut. Otherwise, this was an enjoyable video. I've now subbed to this channel. Thanks for the entertainment.

Makes me want to more arty and outdoors stuff again. I’ve just bought myself a bike once more and the temptation to clip a card to the wheel/spikes is too much!!! I used to do this as a kid to make it sound like a motor bike and ride it for hours!! Lol 😂 beautiful video to wake up to this morning darling xxxx Thank you and I hope your fractured finger heals well xxxxxx

Awesome job, certainly something for dry and calm weather. If it starts raining, you'll get an extra day of dripping on you with a flat roof. And too close to the creek, there's always a temperature-drop - great on hot summer days, but a pain in the a** any time else. Stay safe and have fun.

Miss Duggan, I normally don't say much of anything about what I'm going to share, but in this instance I'm going to take candor. Seeing any woman, especially a YOUNG woman, do this kind of natural work on her lonesome is incredibly heartening, especially when given the modern state of many young Millenials in this day-and-age. They would be far too concerned about getting filthy and having a 'negative impact' on their physical person (i.e. "There is NO way in fuckin' hell I'm going out and fuckin' around in some nasty-ass woods," and even that passage is being contrite with the young people of your age group), and to see you take such endearment and create something from your surroundings using no more than an axe and some string and the sheer intelligence given to us, all I can do is tip my hat to you. And in respect, your Significant Other is quite fortunate to have such a woman as yourself, especially one with your mindset (which is unfortunately considered quite alien in present-day outlook). Thank you for sharing this current adventure with us, and I look forward to seeing more of your continuing growth in the near-future. :D

One thing I’ve learned from growing this channel is exactly how many people there are out there who have the fire in them to go out into the world and grab it by the horns. Some people just need a little push, or some inspiration, or some words of encouragement 😉 don’t forget to spread your kindness to those people too - you never know who they might become 😊♥️

A lot of commenters are so judgemental missing the point completely. She was giving the basic points of how to build a shelter with very few tools. This leaves you to pick up great ideas to enhance your own basic structure in any place you wish for that emergency survival and hideout when the SHTF. No Money needed ! Adding a strong tarpaulin over the carcass of structure then creating a second structure over to add the leaves camouflaging the tarpaulin. To keep the draught out from the bottom....surround the outside of the base with stones one foot high filling gaps with moss and leaves. The bed base is fantastic ! She has given me so much ideas. Thank you so much for video. We may all be living like this soon as the World is in a mess and so is the Economy which will crash very soon. God Bless 🙏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
