That motor is big enough. You just need larger diameter cable's , 2x batteries tied in parallel. Amp drop is what's lowering torque and acceleration. Someday setup solar panels to top up when you post at camp. You gan also get a harbor freight tools tail gate generating and a dc/dc converter like in RVs. Then you get 900w endless battery powered if you want to make it hybrid. Good for different terrain.

I love this! We watched this as a family. Obviously this is a prototype kind of thing and we had fun talking about our modifications to the idea. We decided we'd probably use PVC pipe to make the frame for the tent so you can push it to the edge. Then instead of greenhouse plastic we'd use mesh and seal it at the bottom so you can get a nice breeze. We would use bigger wheels so it sits higher and gives more ground clearance. And we'd probably put the battery in a closed box so that the battery doesn't get weathered. And maybe use a stadium chair when driving for more comfort? These ideas are an amalgamation of ideas we had with the kids. Thanks for giving us a jumping off point to have a really fun discussion!

I like your family's idea of using a mesh material in replacement of the greenhouse plastic, makes it sound more breathable and refreshing. Also the PVC pipe is the same kind of idea I had when talking about the frame, I was even day dreaming during the video about adding like a hidden frame that if you wanted to, could fold out and make like a pop up canopy of sorts that can fold away and retain the shape of the cart when you're in travel mode and then a shaded canopy if you had the room to bring a fold chair. Would definitely be really neat to improve on this base model.

No matter how hot it is outside, knee high socks will protect from bugbites, thorns, scratchy plants and poison ivy. If they are white socks you can see fleas and get them off before you get in your camper. Spiders eat the flighty bugs, and the crawly bugs, so say Hi and thank you. Very cool camper )))

Here's a few things I notice that you can improve in a possible next design: 1. Wood Rotting/Degrading: from what I've seen in the video, you haven't put anything on the wood to help it prevent from rotting or taking damage from water. This is pretty important when camping in the middle of the forest. 2. Electronics Safety: When traversing the forest you encounter various different types of terrain and plants. The electronics are left open except for a little bit of electrical casing, but as someone who just got back from camping for a week straight, the electronics aren't the safest from the elements. 3. Height: The camper is VERY close to the ground, which for a lot of types of terrain, is NOT good at all. This just means that the bottom frame and electronics are more prone to taking damage from any rocks, dirt, or plants sticking out from the ground. Additionally, the low height of the camper means that there's a lot of terrain you can't go through with it. 4. Power: The power provided by your motor isn't enough to carry you uphill, and uphill is something you'll encounter a lot within the forest. This means if/when you need to go uphill, you'll likely be forced to pull it uphill instead of relying on the motor (something I wouldn't want to do). 5. Safe Food Storage: Many wild animals have a VERY great sense of smell. Meaning they can smell open food from MILES away. That being said, our simple camping foods smell like deluxe meals to any animals who smell it, and naturally, they'll want some of it. I doubt you want to wake up in the middle of the night face-to-face with a wild animal looking for your food. This is where things like Bear Boxes come in. They're safe ways to store your open food and prevent animals from being able to smell or access it. 6. Ventilation: As someone who again, just got back from camping for a week straight (in the summer near a less elevated campground), ventilation is ABSOLUTELY NECCESSARY. You can't always rely on a fan or electronics to keep you cool, so I HIGHLY recommend adding more ventilation. 7. Power: In longer camping trips, you won't always have a place to recharge your campers battery. Which usually means if it's out of battery, have fun pulling it the rest of the trip! I'd add a small solar panel or two that can be taken out of the camper and positioned anywhere on the floor (not on the campers roof) to give you a semi-reliable source of power and no need to worry as much about running out of battery. (Before replying to my comment, please note that I'm not responding to any replies because there are a few low-IQ people responding. These suggestions are intended to show things that can be done to improve this project and make it much more reliable and useful, rather than simply being something that will sit in a garage for years. I am aware that this project was not intended to be a full fledged wilderness survival camper.)

I would also suggest that you bring along some poles so you can stake up your yellow tarp front and back as awnings. This is such a cool little camper! You should cut flaps onto the top of the tarp and add velco strips so you can stick them up to get a sunroof/moonlight view.

Awesome build! 👍 The one issue inherent to a greenhouse (by design) is potentially unbearable humidity levels inside. I would cut out and remove some sections of the clear sheeting and replace them with bug mesh sections, especially paired at opposite sides of the camper to permit through airflow. Then perhaps create correspondingly positioned flaps in the yellow tarpaulin that can be opened to expose the bug mesh sections, perhaps with velcro attached to secure them in the open position. The addition of velcro to other areas of the yellow tarpaulin would also help secure it in place when in each of the various open or folded-back positions you demonstrated. As would velcro mounted on the battery holder to ensure that the tarpaulin covers the battery and doesn't blow free during windy and rainy weather and result in water damage to the battery. Equipment-wise, I'd add a small folding camping table. This could be secured on the inside wall, or even have a mount to position it on the outside of the vehicle frame. Finally, the addition of a small grab handle to the front and rear bumpers would mean you could more easily lift the front or back end of the vehicle and spin it around 180 degrees resting on the other set of wheels when doing a bunch of three-point turns is impractical to turn the vehicle around. These might also help remove the vehicle from if it gets bogged or caught on something.

Thank you! Very impressive DIY - from idea to performance! Good that you did put up a game cam, because when you spoke about the smell of a skunk I immediately thought about a cryptid being around. They seem to avoid ir cameras though, so that plus your kind soul probably kept you safe during night time. Good luck!

You certainly have faith that all of the components that you are permanently mounting will be good/functioning. Everyone has probably experienced buying a part or gadget that was non functional, bad, or whatever we will call it. New off the shelf parts that are no good. It's getting much more common in my experience. Nice video. Very enjoyable 👏

Grab a piece of conduit and some paracord and stakes. You can "tent" the overhang ends and get more shade. That would also allow you to open the end and with the thermo and fan, no bugs. BTW Drilling a hole closer to the spindle on each side will give you a better turning radius if you have the clearance.

Build it out of steel angle iron, or add angle irons to the side so you dont have to use as much wood, it will be a lot lighter and stronger, giving it a brush guard is definitely a good idea too. If youre going to keep the wood, coating it in a non toxic silicone paint would be a good idea. Rhino Lining the bottom would be a great idea for making it last.

You should add a radio like make it where there’s a wire that you can connect to the radio and detach from the radio. I have a radio at my house and I would love it if you add a radio to that just relaxing in your little military tent that can drive around anywhere and what could be even more cool is to have a radio playing as you’re going to sleep some nice, relaxing music playing as you’re cooking some food
