thanks Mark. I considered a steel 'kit' carport, too, and they would have been cheaper, however, delivery times (last year, when I built mine) were very unpredictable. Also, it was my plan right from the start to eventually close the side walls and make it into a full garage. I figured this would be a lot easier with a timber frame structure than with a metal skeleton. I really like the Arrow carports, though. they were on my short-list for a while
