Even though I'm a subscriber and had set up an "alert" for your new videos, I never knew about this series until I stumbled on it this morning. I'm really glad I did. In my not-very-humble opinion, EVERY amateur who's planning to fabricate a console, a seat base, or a deck box for his/her boat should watch this series first. Like all your work, this build is professional, careful, and thorough. About five years ago, when I built a console for a client's 16' Carolina Skiff, I used a virtually identical process, and it worked out very well. Literally the only difference was that I bought MDO that was finished on both sides. I can't wait to see what design you choose to build next. Watching you work in your shop is a privilege and a pleasure. Best, Chris

Chris , thanks so much for the kind words I know of your professional status and I am honored by that. I am standing on the shoulders of giants of the men that I learned how to build a Skiff in my little Community in Houghs Neck Quincy, Massachusetts and I have now sold building plans to many people throughout the world so they can get on the water. I have looked at all the designs that you have suggested to me but I do not have the garage space to build those beautiful boats.

Thank you for your sharing your centering technique I don't even want to tell you how I've been doing for 30 years, but I would have measured by default , it's embarrassing, amazing simple yet never occurred to me and I work in the trades, lol, you learn a little thing every video you watch on here, thank you for sharing.

I really have enjoyed this series. I live out in Saipan and I am looking for a boat to go back and forth from the small island inside the reef and maybe outside the reef on calm days.

That is a good looking boat. You definitely need to make another one. Is the new owner going to install the motor controls and steering cables? Thank you for sharing. Have a great week ahead.

Do you think you could put a cabin on this boat? Something like a maine fisherman style, back to the seat where you put the center console. Steering station on the right side, entrance center or left side. Big enough for a bunk. Just trying to picture this in my head to see if it would work as a weekender, or travel the ICW. Any plans or line drawings like that available?

Protip with large holes saws (when you can) predrill the cetner hole completely with the same sized pilot bit. Use paste wax to lower friction. Works pretty good.
