Michael, how would you convert an existing tiller? (Like mine) without taking the frame apart?

I want to try to build a rod locker for my bass tracker. If I use 1” angle aluminum 1/16” thick and 5/32 rivets would that be strong enough. I’d like to be able to sit on it sometimes. The lid will be 1/2” plywood.

Section it off in 1 foot span and it will be strong enough. But I would use inch and a half instead of 1 inch.
