The chum is THE traditional temporary dwelling of the Nenets - the last reindeer breeders of the Great Siberian North.
In the freezing cold of Siberia, we brought our cameras and joined their family in this moment of gathering, to observe each step of this home in the making.
No comment, just sit, watch and get warm.

Absolutely love the Nenets people. If I had a different life I’d love to come back as a Nenet man. I’ve always been fascinated by the people above the Arctic Circle and think they have achieved a special kind of peace and oneness with nature there. Just look how they treat and revere their reindeer. It’s very touching

One of the nice things of life in Arctic is you don't need any refrigerator to store your food. I like how they chopped wood and then with the same axe chopped meat for dinner. I will try it to impress my wife.

Very intersesting but I live in Australia , which is hasrh in it's own way. The best part of the world is the tropics IMHO and I go there every year when it is cold here. Temperature is so mild, little lothing required and the food just grows wherever you drop a seed. Papaya, paw paw, rice, fish all good I admire these people for their stoicism but would never travel there. They're so close to tho Arctic. I wish them well.

It's fascinating to see this but having been born and bred in sub-sahara in Africa where it's generally hot, I don't think I can ever live a normal life under Siberian conditions. This is a no-go area for me. I think am not genetically made to endure these conditions.
