Thank you for this so much. Pretty much will be replicating this entire setup. I shoot a lot of music videos and noticed my freehand work when it's not on a gimbal can get kind of shaky, I realized it's due to not having a setup like this. Allows you to still be free but have control. Awesome and thanks again!!

Hey man, lovely setup! I was looking for a way to adapt my XT-20 for video use as the next project I have is going to be handheld. Got lot's of inspiraton from your rig and the cage is on it's way. I have to say, For now just slotting the battery clamp into the bottom receiver of the camera is the most barebones thing I could think of in order to achieve the extended battery life and adding that little bit of extra weight! footage is already more smooth ^^

Yes it is an overkill! .. But I did the same thing lol. I got the exactly the same setup as yours. X-S10 and all. I just wish that I had 4k 60fps. Got X-S10 instead of X-T4 because of its smaller size, but now it's a gigantic monstrosity with all the small rig setups.😂

hey, this is amazing, I might replicate the whole rig but before that, I got a question, would you recommend getting a gimbal or doing this rig? Which one would have more stability, especially if I'm using a lens with no built-in stability, would this rig still be as steady as a gimbal?
@aransamson2 жыл бұрын
heya! for stability you would still want a gimbal. this setup still has a lot of handshake, gimbals would generally remove that while this kind of rig just makes it more pleasing and less jittery.

Dependiendo que accesorios conetas te va durar dos a tres veces mas tiempo, puede ser mas tiempo también dependiendo de la capacidad de tu batería externa, pero lo conveniente es que tenes solo una fuente de energía para todo el sistema

Since you’re building the small rig, I assume this footage is from the XA-7? Thinking about getting the X-S10 upgrading from XT200, would you suggest getting it with the 18-55 too? Or Am I good with the 15-45 3.5-5.6?
@aransamson3 жыл бұрын
Good eye! Yes I shot this on the A7. I personally like the 18-55 over the 15-45 just because I like the physical zoom rings over the power zoom mechanism of the 15-45. The wider aperture of the 18-55 is also quite noticeable. That being said, I used to own the 15-45 and I regret letting it go. There are things I miss such as the 15mm wide end and also the super compact form factor. (The 18-55 is like three times bigger.) I hope this helps!
@janjericsantos3 жыл бұрын
@@aransamson Thank you bro! Currently, I'm not satisfied with the footage I get with the XT200 so thinking about the switch. Appreciate the advice.

@@janjericsantos I think the XT200 is a great photo camera! but for video I would go with the XS10 or the XT4, if you could wait, I am hearing a lot of good things about the rumored XH2. I'd even go for a used XH1 too. Happy shooting and looking forward to your future videos!
@jpr-tech2 жыл бұрын
I've been shooting with the xc15-45mm recently. Now, I prefer the 15-45mm... Actually used to own the 18-55mm. And trust me, sharpness difference is not what you'd expect. I have a video showing how the 15-45mm is actually sharper in some apertures and focal distance. That's why I sold the 18-55 got the 15-45 and had left over to get another lens! The XF50mm f2 WR.

@aransamson3 жыл бұрын
Heya Cy! The PT5 is good enough for what I need it for. It's definitely no Atomos but I just needed a monitor to check my framing and I just trust the Fuji with the colors. It doesn't have much HDMI latency too. Good value for money for my purposes I think!

Yes definitely! As long as you have the proper cage for it. There are some universal ones. I am using a Fuji X-A7 same body type as the A3, and I dont think you can rig it up too much, there is definitely a lot you can put. The monitor and the microphone are definitely riggable to that.

I don't understand this statement "Some Canon Dummy Battery that can connect to USB Type C". What does this mean?
@StefanSchmalhaus Жыл бұрын
A dummy battery is a plastic container that has the size, shape and connections of an original Sony, Canon, Fuji etc. battery but doesn't have any battery cells. Instead, the dummy battery comes with a cable that connects the camera directly to a power bank or a larger battery (for example, V-mount batteries). The dummy battery might include a bit of electronics for converting the voltage.
