Handmade construction of a Classical Guitar by Christian Crevels, guitar maker.
No music, no talk, just the craft and its sounds.
Finishing is one of the most time-consuming processes of guitar making, especially the traditional French Polish. However, it is gratifying, and a fine choice for finishing your classical guitar.
French polish is made using Shellac, and the pore fill is made with pumice powder; I like to keep all materials as natural and non-toxic as possible.

Sure, this is Astra Shellac. I've ordered it from Maderas Barber, but it is also available in many suppliers.

Lovely work! What is the wood you used for the back and sides?

Hello! It is a Brazilian wood. In Brazil we call this species Araribá. Elsewhere I have seen it being called as 'Canary wood'. The scientific name is Centrolobium robustum.

@@chriscrevelsguitars it reminded me a little bit of a wood I used before called Machiche, but when I looked at the pictures of machiche as compared to the arariba, they have similar color but the grain of your guitar is nicer! Enjoy the rest of your day.

A nice rubbed low gloss shellac finish, but it's not French Polish. French Polish is the highest gloss possible, like a pool of oil, beyond glassy.

That's is true. Here we see only the first part of the process. I kept on adding layers (still am) but I just thought that the video would become a little boring, cause the process is basically the same endless repetition. It will be glassy thought, but weeks on
