My dad drove 48 ft doubles on the Kansas Turnpike his tractor was a K100 with a 12 V 71, twin turbos, and a 13 speed transmission.(he said it would take about 2 miles to get it up to 70mph with 70,000 # load ) compared to other trucks he drove he said "you've got to drive it like your mad at it". I rode with him once, and that one I'll never forget.

I drove a dump truck a few times loaded down with a 6v71 in it. They must be made to scream to get any work out of them. It does feel abusive, but it's not.

The way the old guy told me how to drive the old 6-71 was slam your fingers in the door so your pissed off at it and made you drive it that way wide open it had a 15 speed transmission and 5.56 or something rears it was used to haul coal in Va and Wv but you could go threw all the gears in 1/2 mile topping out at 64 mph with 30 ton on it. man miss those old days now but that had a part in my hearing loss I couldn't hear for 3 or 4 hours after my 12 shift . glad to see Matt helping again y'all stay safe and keep the video's coming

If it took it two miles to get to 70 it was no v-12v-12-71 twin turbo , it was a v 8-71 or there is something seriously wrong with it !!!💥💥

For me today was a very good video to see Matt back like I said before sometimes kids have to learn things the hard way and that's a job as a parent is to keep praying for him and keep teaching them the right way of life no matter what goes on in their head they think they can move a mountain without setting down thinking and figuring out the best way to do it this was a very very good video to see you two working together again I love the video to me this was a very good video keep doing what you do

It depends on injector size. My marine 6-53’s burn around 8-10 gallons an hour each running N65’s depending on the current direction.

That's how we transport our motors all the time. When we take them to the machine shop for service. We are getting the machine equipment to do that part. And our mechanics are 💯% license to do that kind of work. We always use a cargo truck to transport them. The machine shop we use is like a hours drive and there quick doing work. I usly take them there and Jessie will ride with me. And we check out the thrift stores across the road and next door. We use the engine stand when we transport them. Cause we did it that way u did and jeot having issues without not damaging the parts under the motor. Jessie my wife goes I bet when Steve edits the video and realizes he has a reverse light out he goes to a auto parts store and get a bulb.

My question is you built pockets for the forklift then put the engine crate in sideways so the forks can't go under the crate and by putting the crate at the front instead of near the rear axle unless they have a forklift with long forks the forklift isn't going to be able to get to it unless they wrap a chain around it and drag it to the back.
@fsctruckshop6537
@fsctruckshop6537 2 жыл бұрын
Forks couldn't reach the front of the loadbead anyway. It was pulled out with a chain and lifted once at the edge. If the other way the chains would have nothing to hook to.
