@@geesamanhomes thanks for everything. I meet with an architect on property tomorrow. Close on our lot next week. The hardest part now is the waiting. Between design and plans and permits and Colorado weather.. we’re looking at 2 years till certificate of occupancy. Wish us patience and luck!

Best of luck!! Remember to be patient, as there will always be things that either go wrong or you decide you want changed when building a home (no matter if it's a production home vs. custom home). The key is addressing it as soon as you notice it, as depending on the issue if you wait too late it may cost a lot more money and time to fix it.

What do you guys think about the home being built? It's a "master on main" ranch home with a finished walkout basement. Would you like to build a home like this? What would your ideal custom home build look like?

This is what we are building. We don’t have kids and the walk out basement is planned as mother in law area as well as guest space. Thanks for these videos they are helpful!!

What is the % down if paying cash usually? What if the builder you might want to use you want to mix a few of their plans will it take a long time? What are those clubbers? I love the look of that wood.

Hi Vickie. The typical down payment on a custom construction home is 20%. The great thing about using a custom builder (like BBG Construction) is that you can mix and match any of their floor plans, or come up with a brand new floor plan! Thanks again for watching, and hope you have a great day!

What IF, the cost of custom homes is lower in one State than Another ? For example, TEXAS has nice custom homes from 300k. what would I need to do to build the same type of home in my State ? NM. or would I need to buy the Material from one builder have another construct it ? ANY IDEAS ?

The price of a custom home depends on a lot of factors, including the price of materials, costs of subcontractors, the knowledge and connections of the builder themselves, and several other factors. While it’s true that you may be able to build the “same” custom home for different prices in different states, there is no guarantee it’ll be the exact same finished product for the same price because of the factors I previously listed. If you’re wanting to build a house you saw in TX in NM you’ll have to own a piece of land where you can legally build the home, buy the blueprints for the home, have a custom builder agree to build it for you, then get a quote for what it would cost. The custom builder would then source the materials and labor for the build of the home. Or if you are savvy enough to buy materials and source your own labor you could do it all yourself. Just depends on your comfort level for that kind of a project.

Ok, 1 question my like, the old style of master has been upstairs, and I'm Ok with both ways. so from this video, it seems like he wouldn't build a house that has master upstairs is that right?

Ben prefers to build a primary bedroom on the main floor, and his reasoning for this is that as people age they find it less desirable to go up and down stairs to their bedroom, so a primary bedroom on the main floor is a fantastic solution. If you prefer your bedroom upstairs, can you tell us why? We'd love to share this info with Ben and his team!

@@DaQuelWright Typically with homes that have primary bedrooms on the main floor you sometimes have another bedroom on the main floor, with the other bedrooms either on the second floor or in the basement. This may not be ideal for families with small children, but as children age floorpans like this become more desirable to people looking for a new home.
