During growing up I saw high level of ground water and never known the concept of borewells, advent of pesticides/insecticides and not using recent technology in a sensible manner led to sever depletion of ground level water. Build a rotor tiller that has side discharge. A windrow box. A reverse rotation tiller, with screw shaped tines (like a rotary mower) to move the dirt to one side. A power shovel

Get a 100 foot long clear hose, fill it with water, and use it as a level with 2 yard sticks. You can use 2 clear bottles on the ends of a hose. WATER LEVEL HOSE
