Forgot about the channel? Yeah we did too 😬. We still think of this channel as a place for fun weird things that don't fit anywhere else, so we're trying on a new name and some new types of content. It's still our 2nd channel, but hopefully we can start having more fun with it. Hope you stick around 👍

I got caught up in the obvious excitement you share. Not to be offensive but I don’t care what ya call the channel because, again, your excitement is contagious. As a modeler myself, I enjoy building things. I think of all the electronics we will be adding to MY model that your building! (Roomba look out!😁). I just have sooo many wonderful ideas we will be adding to MY model as your building it! 😁 Seriously, there are really not enough people like us left anymore. I can see that it is a very expensive endeavor too. When you get ready to add the electronics, I’m thinking lidar to keep us from other objects. I have an old electric wheel chair for locomotion. We have a standby i9 core for the processor. I’m sure it will have no problem processing both the remote control part and the onboard logics that we will be using on MY model that your building. Many many variable RGB, LEDs for those wonderful variable color modes. We will not forget the small arms that R2 has on his front panel. I haven’t finished working on the thrusters yet. I had to replace the burnt part of the garage but it’s fine it’s ok, the CNC didn’t get completely ruined. I did have to replace that one arm though, oh, and a small part of the roof. The fire department got there fairly quickly. (Note to self- NO more hydrazine used in the thruster!) I’ve worked out the frequency for the mini drone located in the lower panel near the skirt in back! It will be in the GHz range because R2’s remotes are in that range. I’m thinking you will be proud of me on this one. We will just kinda skip over the garage part tho. Thanks for sharing my friend! 😉

I had to make same suggestion. It's something I noticed in the "reality" TV thing. I loved the original "Kitchen Nightmares" UK version and then it came to US (I'm American) and you'll notice ANYtime there's a lull they just have to put a rockin guitar or a "boing" or a sad piano as if we are all 3 year olds with massive ADD...don't answer that...but yea it's a fad/trend I won't miss. I hate to even critisize something like this for sure, constructive or no, but maybe one day.

Seriously, Dude! Where were you when George Lucas was producing Star Wars! Oh wait you were just a youngster like me....😁. Man, George Lucas and Industrial Light and Magic would be very proud of you and amazed for what you have done. Sure it was expensive (and most likely more money will be spent on upgrades and finishing) but it is Awesome and Amazing just like you! So after R-2 D-2, you need C-3PO and I believe you could make him and he work and walk. I do have some suggestions if you don't mind.... Where the "foot" attaches to the leg put a brass or aluminum bearing (tube) for the bolt to ride thru. This will stop premature wear of the Styrene plastic hole and any other joints that bolts pass thru the Styrene and you have movement. Another suggestion is where the motor with the small gear turns the head....make two thin aluminum disc that are slightly bigger in diameter than the styrene gear on the motor. Take off the styrene gear, place an aluminum circle plate on the motor, then the plastic gear then another aluminum circle plate so you "sandwich" the little gear and then place the motor back in until the big outer gear merges with the little gear but sandwiched between the two plates. This will increase rigidity and also keep the gear on the motor in place at all time so if he hits a bump it won't cause misalignment between the small gear and the head gear. Make sure the aluminum circles are not so tight that they rub the gears. It's just to be a guide. Also silicone grease makes a great lubricant and does not affect the styrene. Until the next video take care and have fun!

Putting a 4090 and some other bits inside the main body connected to a OS that supports AI would be a big step in having a real droid.
@charlesurrea14512 ай бұрын
You realize that your methodology of using 3D printed parts and exterior metal is the future of manufacturing? In space exploration, resources won't necessarily be scant but they will most certainly need to be efficiently used. The trick to using expanding Loom is shrink tube. You shrink the end that you're starting at, which gives you something to pull against. Then you can shrink another piece on the finishing side where you can cut it even.
