Building a hammer rack for the anvil stand so I can easily find the right hammer

When blacksmithing, you can't waste time trying to find your hammer when you need to be working a heat. I finally add a hammer rack to the anvil stand I built. This will allow me to have 5 hammers ready to use when I'm forging different projects. I built this rack so I can add other tool holding features to it in the future.

What's the purpose of the chain around the anvil?

Deadens the ringing by absorbing the vibrations when you hammer on the anvil
