Just a heads up to anyone watching this in 2024 - Costco sells a 7ish cubic foot Danby chest freezer that has a built in adjustable "fridge mode" for about $220 ($300 CAD) delivered. I'm building my keezer out of it right now, and so far so good. The warmer end of the fridge mode dial looks to be about 43* f, I'm guessing it can go as cold as 34ish. I needed less than 10ft of wood for the collar, and it looks like I should be able to fit my 20lb CO2 with 2-3 corny kegs (if you opt for an external gas tank, you could probably fit closer to 5 kegs) EDIT: the keezer has been complete and is now filled with 3 kegs and a huge co2 tank. It's perfect in fridge mode, highly recommend!

This was a truly informative and well shot video. I bought a used kegerator and am upgrading it and this showed me what I was doing right, and what I was about to do wrong. Thanks very much for taking the time to explain it completely, concisely and with enough detail to leave no doubt as to why you do the steps you do. Now I want to build my own KEEZER!!

thank you so much for this video by far the best and informal video of Watch. bought my first bar last year haven't had good draft beer since I opened. When I took over there was no draft beer lines were black we're going to please come in and said they fixed it but still wasting a lot of beer. the beer tower is an antique and the tubing for the Corvair was just way off needless to say the temperature was not right and it really was too short. I have since went with the same design you did I just want to personally thank you for taking the time out and helping guys like us succeed I will pass it along

That was a great video. I have one question. There's plenty of head room for the kegs. I think that I would've added a false floor where I could have aluminium pipes soaked in water as part of the breaking line towards the tap. This way, when I added a new keg, the beer would be cold immediately. Any reason why that would be a bad idea? The reason I wouldn't use copper instead, is I've heard it can become poisonous when used for carbonated drinks.

It's advisable to put a bit of caulk / sealant /wood glue before screwing the four pieces of wood together -- you wont airtight on all seams including where the wood is joined. Or get fancy and do a dovetail / finger joint.

If you are going to use stock tap handles be sure they are lower than the top of the lid. Sure enough you will place something on top of lid and after a few beers you will slid it tward you tp remove it and trip the tap.... YES I did this LOL.

Interesting topic for me, but I can't bear to watch videos like this, in which the presenter looks away from the camera. It feels so unnatural - are you talking to me or not? I don't know who started this trend in video, but it's awful. If you're talking to me, look at me! I'll get my information elsewhere.
