@blazerlover25 Actually the tractor will be used on my cattle ranch which is in the mountains and gets a good share of snow.

@CDNBadass Thanks for the comment. Yes, I made that crimping tool out of a pair of old bolt cutters that had chipped a cutter. I welded some heavy angle iron and it works great. I am on the hunt for a larger pair of bolt cutters so I can have a wider opening mouth.

Water heaters are perfect for the main part of the plow, but you have to brace it with several vertical braces and a horizontal brace on the top, bottom and middle if you want it to last. ANd a thick (1/2" or more) piece of flat stock for a blade bolted to the bottom so yo are ale to replace it when it wears out.

@jackcass13 Go for it!!! If you have any questions about the build just ask...it turned out to be a very stout plow. Let me know when you get some videos of the new tractor.

@trbfshmn I made the background music on my computer... it is a combination of me playing live instruments and stock music loops I have in my music editing software.

Looking good! Was that a set of bolt cutters you turned into a crimping tool?

I am going to make one for my mower. The metal you used for your blade, is that a big piece of pipe? I was thinking about cutting a hot water tank in half and using it. I like the way you folded the metal for your edges. great job!
@yourbeekeeper7 жыл бұрын
Hey Nick, the blade was sourced from a 40gal water heater that I cut the ends off and split it in half. The folded edges give amazing strength and stability to this set-up. I used the other half of the tank to make a box scraper, I have videos of that build as well.

Thank you for the reply. I am goig to try to copy your set up.

Copy away. It has been used and still is in use today. Honestly I have pushed more dirt than snow with this plow, but nonetheless has help,up quite well. Good luck with your build.

looking good but I do have a question which may be stupid to some but if memory serves me right your in california? well if your in california why would you need a snow plow? from what I hear it's always sunny in california?

+Tj Palmer The blade and attachment bracket has held up very, very well to the abuse I have put it through... I have pushed more earth than show with this set-up. The backing plate I used for the trip edge has bent to the point where I will need to re-engineer things this year. The ice on the road has been very damaging. In the next few months I will make a video of the modifications. Thanks for watching.
