BUILDING a HUGE WOODSHED - 1 YEAR of WOOD | Raw & Unfiltered - SPEARFISHING DEEP for FOOD - EP. 176 - In this episode of the Jake and Nicolle Show Jake and Nicolle build a new bushcraft style firewood shed built out of trees they fell on their property Komorebi. They are still building their full sawmill so Jake still used the chainsaw mill to rough cut the wood planks for the construction. After the woodshed is stocked Jake goes spearfishing to catch food for Nicolle and Fox. Then it's the continuation of the shipping container house. Staircase, sealed windows, support beams, and new wood stove from www.WoodCookStove.com all goes in! The wood stove link we are using for our Kitchen Wood Stove is here: www.woodcookstove.com/wood-co...
Got to get in this house if we are to get in before intense rains and snow and maybe more babies!

Hey Jake just a thought, why don't you cut the top end of the vertical wood post with a "V" top and the beams going across have "V" to snug them in. Therefore you can have it sit inside the "V" while you move over to the other side without it moving on you.

I found your videos a couple of years ago but my husbands cancer treatments sidelined them for a while. I just recently went back and watched them all from the very beginning!!❤ Just wanted to let you know that you’ve made a huge difference in my life. Your being vegan has changed my health as I wanted to adopt that into my lifestyle. I lost 50 lbs and I’m no longer have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or arthritis!! God’s been good to me!! I no longer eat any processed foods or meat of any kind, no dairy, cheese, or sugar and learning all I need to know to be healthy. Tell everyone who asks where I’m getting my protein that I’m getting it firsthand. Also started to do yoga again!! It’s awesome!! Needed to also thank you for all your great gardening advice as we have moved (left my beautiful garden behind 😢) and started over in a different environment. It’s a challenge but you’ve inspired me!! Wanted to mentioned that you’re exactly right about the hospital thing. As one whose also been through it. Not against them when they are needed, but totally against taking drugs and doing unnatural things if we can find an alternative. Been harvesting herbs (other people call weeds) and building an apothecary. Been studying herbs for years and have been blessed to be able to apply it to my life now. Must mention that I love the way you’re raising Fox!! Its a pleasure to watch him grow and develop. Thank you so much for sharing your lives with us all. If I can support your channel in the future I will!! Love you so much!!❤❤❤

I absolutely love your videos, Fox is sooooooo adorable, I remember when my son went to work with his dad. And now his son plays with his toy chain saw. The time flies by so fast. As always I'm crocheting and watching your videos. You've come so far on your property. I love watching Fox, he looks so much like my son did at that age the blonde hair, I lost all his baby pictures in the Camp fire, so it warms my heart to be reminded.

I thought you guys had gotten a portable log mill. Could be my mistake, I am fascinated by the chain saw method also, but we watch Katie and Greg on "This Off Grid Life" they are in Canada also, it seems satisfying to watch..but whatever, we love the work you all do! My husband never watched until Foxx was born 😊. I love the soothing music and the whales and the otters. You surely have peace for your souls. Your kid is. Adorable! He’s also pretty fearless. The woodshed is going to be so useful. Your hard work will pay off this winter when you access dry wood for your stoves. My gosh, it’s a lot of work. Glad you can recycle the metal. Fox is going to have a nice st of muscles when this is finished! Love his version of a four wheeler! You could also salt and dry the fish. It will keep for a long, long time when prepared that way. When you want to use it, rehydrate it, changing the water several times. Newfoundlanders still use this method too preserve fish.

Hi Jake. You bring tears to my eyes. You show your son you believe in him. when he tries, you show him you have his Back. My father never showed me he believed in me. It took 40 yesrs for me to believe in myself. My father was so capable in so many areas. I learnt so many things from him. He behaved that way because of how his fathrer treated him. The way you teach your son to believe in himself makes me tear up every time. I watch my son do so many things and realise I have done a lot to make him capable in many ways. Thanks, and Merry Christmas from the other side of the world, Australia. I believe you are creating a great man. Fox. Deep affection from one who has a great difficulty expressing it.

Could you store the whole logs under the shelter to keep it dry until you have a nice dry day to cut it? You work so hard, even Fox. He is adorable, and so smart copying dad. Nicolle I don’t know how you do so much, gathering, and preserving for winter. Good job to you both in educating Fox by including him in all you do.
