Building a Hugelkultur For My Permaculture Forest Garden🪵

Spring has finally come, and I'm busy in my off-grid forest garden making a special kind of raised bed - a so-called hügelkultur. Watch me build the hügelculture step for step and also explain why I chose this design for my permaculture forest garden. I will also show moments of my life in my off-grid tiny house. A nd if you're lucky you might catch a glimpse or two of som black wild boars in the forest.

Someday....... Great to have found this channel. Wish I would have thought of this lifestyle years ago. Even if I stay where I am I now have better plans for my backyard. I would however, like to disconnect from the everyday grind. What a great life.

I see that the soil is really rich, so we’d have to go the extra mile here I think. But can one make a smaller size (real small) hugelkultur or does it have to be a certain measurement?

You can scale down the size for sure. Or even make one in a raised bed with some pallets! But the bigger the size the more effective in terms of holding water of course! But if you cover it with wood chips, leaves in autumn and make sure it has some rainworms they will help you get better soil for spring. Or maybe just cover the layer of poor soil with some horse manure in the autumn og then mix it with the soil😊
