IMO, nothing gives you a better living experience than radiant floor heat. Even baseboard radiant heat is way better than forced air. I use to live up in the CO mountains, and since there is no AC needed, lots of houses have radiant heat. You can tell as soon as you walk in the house. it is so nice.

What is the material that you cut the grooves for the pex tubing? I understand Lizard Skin is sprayed on the van's metal floor. What is the next layer called?

its a composite fiberglass board... simi.ar to a product called Coosa board.

Why not ? Just a ton more work and cost. And I would add that such a long pipe would have lots more soldering joints - doesn‘t add to reliability on a gazillion miles.
