I guess I hadn’t been getting notifications of your uploads for the last few weeks. Just came across part 2 of this so have just watched part 1. With that empty hole in the pickguard that was originally for the vol pot, you could put a push/push switch and use it to switch the phase of the bridge to give yourself another tone option.

Double check you have notifications set to all else you won't always get notified, I was thinking of putting a kill switch there. I need to keep that area pretty clear else I knock volume pots

@@theguitarmanifesto My settings are set right, YT does that to me every so often where it will completely ignore content from a few of my subscriptions for a few weeks, then they will be back. Yeah, I saw your comment about the vol pot getting in your way. I was thinking of a low-profile push/push panel switch.

Brilliant build as always Rob. Instead of the dummy pick up in the middle, why not put a sticker over it like last time or better still just leave a hole. Looking forward to see this one finished.

Thanks dude 💯 i was thinking about putting a sticker in there but I recently sticker bombed VW Bus so I ain't got any left 🤣🤣 part 2 should be up tomorrow 🎸✌️

I think it's looking good! Just out of interest, you didn't fancy using one of the spare volume / tone pot holes for the 3 way selector switch? Or alternatively, you didn't fancy a 3 way blade switch in the original blade slot? Definitely the right choice for the neck. Will be interesting to see if you do move the neck back or leave it where it is. Look forward to part 2 and hearing it in action. 🙂🙂🎸🎸

I did mention why in the previous video, I always hot the vol pot when playing, so like to leave it blank. Also I don't like blades I prefer the toggle switch. Just a bit of fun doing something bit different from crusty old parts 🤣

Great video really interesting, but I'm wondering does the neck not sit to the body correctly as you're attempting to fix a Squire neck to Fender body as I'm sure I've seen a number of guitar experts say the two different brands aren't always compatible / parts mixing etc.
@theguitarmanifesto2 жыл бұрын
The neck and body are Squier, they come in various sizes lucky to get an exact fit even with Fender

Great stuff, Rob. Perhaps you can sell them to the rest of us less resourceful blokes. Lately, I've really gotten into overwound HB's on Strat bridge position for a touch of Grunge. Rest of time I stick to the neck p'up. Cheers and keep warm.

its too bad the pick guard didn't have enough room for a p90 cut out, a think a mini Humbucker might fit, though I don't have a lot of experience with them.. Honestly I don't have much experience with putting new pickups and pots and such in a guitar, so I could be very very wrong. I do kind of like the look of the headstock though, though for pretty cheap you could put on a better rolling type string tree on it, but maybe you didn't have a spare one laying around. I wonder if the scale could be adjusted to 24.75 like a gibson or maybe just 24 like a mustang.. I like the idea of mixing and matching to build a cool guitar, keep up the good work. :)
@theguitarmanifesto2 жыл бұрын
I could of got a p90 in there but didn't really want to start chopping up the body cavity
@lfaf95092 жыл бұрын
@@theguitarmanifesto After looking back in the video, It looks like this body is routed for a humbucker in the neck, I didn't know that p90s were larger, so that could be why I thought the issue was the pickguard.
