Collected my whole life. Lost my childhood collection while in service, then mainly collected Smith and Wesson or Gerber or Kershaw tactical styled knives. Then my obsession kicked back in when I got civivi Hel D'Art for neck knife and an OG Elementum BL. Got several Civivis, started getting Kizer, Damned Designs/Kubey, and recently spread to Spyderco and Demko. There are so many in this video that I want! Thanks Jerad!

It's crazy the collection of knives you can buy these days for a relatively small amount of money and be ready for any situation that you could run into. Really budget Companies like SRM and Ganzo put out great knives for the price of well under 35 bucks. Bumping up to the midrane budget companies like Sencut, Civivi, QSP, kubey, CJRB, Cold Steel etc.. have great offerings from the 35 to 75 dollar range and above that the limit is endless. Just goes to show that you can have an awesome collection without breaking the bank. All of us have to start somewhere building a collection and vids like this really help those getting into the hobby for the first time who are looking to start or expand a collection that will suit our usage. Thanks for the great vid Jerad and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.

My collection started with a CRKT Provoked, first knife i bought. I just thought it was cool, I didn’t really think i’d get into knives like that. Just for fun. Then suddenly it turned into a Benchmade bugout/bailout, a few Kizers, Spyderco, Cold Steel, Demko, and more and more. And lately I bought a few Microtechs. Got a Stitch, Mini Troodon(California…), and just ordered an MSI(found one in stock surprisingly). I think i’m up to about 13 or so. Definitely need to invest in a bigger pelican case or one of those knife rolls… Kizer definitely been my favorite so far because there knifes are pretty solid and they have all kinds of designs for almost anyone. They also make a really good button lock. That Kizer Drop Bear is fantastic. And comes in premium versions.

what U do wit any srm is squeeze the end of the pocket together the space between the metal on the end of pocket and it pulls completely out of the handle to move to other side just be squeezing it together do not have to loosen screw

That Kizer Harpoon works great for a Garden knife. I use it when harvesting various vegetables, especially the ones with a tough vine. It's about the perfect size, easy access with the belt clip and it is ok if you drive it into the dirt. A few passes on the tri diamond stone and its like new again.

I swapped my REX 45 blade onto GOAT scales as my Grail Manix Then I put S30V on the White LW for a work knife. I already cut scotch Brite pads with the knife. It feels good beating on a Manix. Something about it that’s satisfying rather than cutting with my fastback.

I have that same kizer Harpoon dead pool edition, I absolutely adore it! My favorite small fixed blade (at least for my budget). I recommend the American Lawman for a more civilized "hard use" folder. Great video as usual!!

same here dude. best designs with the best materials available especially for the price. i have a rex45 manix that cost $145 which is BEYOND a steal. also their k390 knives are ridiculously good deals, especially the stretch 2 for $160. the stretch 2 xl salt for $140 is also pretty killer, most people hate on h2 but that stuff is so ridiculously tough you can sharpen it to like 10 DPS and have a ridiculous laser beam of a knife.

Im not sure the exact reason but I have been on a Buck knife craze lately, I Picked up a 110 hunter with Green Micarta inlays, brass bolsters and S45vn clip point blade, and I feel stupid because I had forgotten Buck knives have crazy sharp hollow grinds and now I just really love carrying and using it. Normally ive been carrying stuff like Kunwu/Microtech/Spyderco so toting around a buck knife has been different but still a welcome change. now I'm even more excited since they just dropped some Magnacut ones on their website and I was able to order one to my house before they sold out.

I think the mini grip is tougher than the larger griptilian since the mini griptilian has a full frame underneath the scales and the larger griptilian has only partially or cartridge scales. This was a fun video.

I've learned from my mistakes starting out as a collector. I purchased low dollar items. hundred dollars. expensive for me though... then I got a hold of some cash and spend $1,000 in one week altogether . on a Microtech ultratech . And a week later a Benchmade infidel. big mistake. I should have waited till I knew more. at first I thought the Benchmade was better but realized after time the Microtech what's better. I wouldn't buy a Benchmade now ever again. I should have just bought 1 high quality titanium frame lock. take your time researching before you waste your money like I did.

@onemanhisdub4084 I meant like wd40 in a can which a lot of people carry, but yeah I rinse my bearings all the time, there's actually a great video by Nero knives he tested Teflon, fb washers, Ceramic and steel bearings, it's a great video. However if your someone who never gets anything in the bearings to worry about then good you don't have to worry just keep oiled, but for the person that works in grimy places having Ceramic bearings could be good for that reason or Teflon which is the best for thst

I loved my Ontario Rat but then I did a spine whack test and it fails every time. I was pretty disappointed.

disassemble the knife and clean the lock surfaces on the blade and liner, then lightly scuff both with 600-800 grit sandpaper for a few passes, reassemble and test again, repeat if needed. if that doesn't work try bending the liner *a little* farther into the locked position, make sure to measure the before and after resting position of the disassembled liner to keep an eye on progress

I've been having trouble putting down either of my Kizer mini critical or the bugai in 3v! Both coming in right around $100 bucks! Almost a no brainer at that price.... I also got the cold steel sr1 lite for an absolute cheap beater. For $40 bucks and coming in at 5mm thick, i got a sharpened pry bar on hand to keep in my truck!!

Every knife collection should start with a Opinel 8. They cost nothing and if you end up not using it so much, it makes a great paring knife. I also think every knife reviewer should use that as default for size comparison.
