your pond looks great but why didn't you do a bottom drain instead?

I have a pump that sits at the bottom. I didn't need to go the extra effort to add a bottom drain.

How did you attach the net on the sides? Love the process on how you built it.

Weave a cord through the net around the edges. Throw the net over the pond and let the edges drape over the lip of the pond walls. Pull the cord so it tighten around the pond, tie the cord.

I really like this!! It’s a nice affordable option.. however I don’t mean to sound like a “negative Nancy” but do u think it wld have been beneficial to anchor the 1st timber to the concrete with a few nice fat screws/bolts?

That's a really good observation. The concrete lip that acts as the base of the pond walls isnt very thick, only 6 inches. I didnt want to weaken it by drilling hole and bolts into it. The rest of the wall is constructed out of lumber which flexes and the fact lumber and concrete expand/contract at different rates thoughout the seasons could cause the concrete to crack if the fastening agent can't absorb the shifting. I'm sure there are better fasteners out there but for this application the caulk should do. It holds well and since it's like rubber it can stretch.

I get a lot of sun. Use API Accu Clear for maintenance to keep the water clear.
