I love that a 1TB NVME SSD is now a possible option in a budget build. Also, I find that I have an easier time if I run the CPU power connector first and plug it into the motherboard before screwing the board into place, especially in tighter cases.

It resonates more when I see a game I’d play showcased.

Wow what a solid build on a budget for entry level gaming! My only critique is that I think an intake fan around those front middle vents would serve the build well. That being said...don't underestimate minecraft! It's not GPU or the CPU that will get you right away...it's the RAM! Once one dives into modpacks you would be surprised about how much it wants to utilize.

@yan3066
@yan3066 10 ай бұрын
@@lucasrem In which build ? My old one with the i5 3570 ? The RTX 4070 is made to run with newer cpus, like an i5 12400 or Ryzen 5 5600. Anything below the performance of these cpus, I think you will have a severe bottleneck and you won't use that RTX 4070 at full capacity. If you speak about the build in this video, with the i5 8500, personally the best graphic card to pair with it in my opinion is a RTX 2060 or RX 6600, and even there you might encounter some bottlenecks in certain games. It always depends how demanding the games are. Some are more cpu demanding, others more on the gpu side. The best advice I can give you is to watch benchmarks on youtube about the game you want to play and the hardwares you want to use/build. For example, if I want to see how the RTX 4070 will perform in recent games, and which cpu to choose (let's say we take the Ryzen 7 5800X3D for example), I'll write on the youtube bar "RTX 4070 benchmarks paired with 5800X3D" and you'll get many videos about the subject. After this, you watch how the graphic card is being used in %. If it's being used 100% at all time, there is no bottleneck. If it is below, there might be a slight or a big bottleneck. I hope it helps ! Take care 😉

@@KimKim-mt2bb it depends which games and how you want to run it (low, medium or high settings). Most of my games were running above 60fps. My advice for you would be to search for the particular game you're looking for. Example, I would write on the youtube bar "GTX 1050 Ti paired with i5 3570 Cyberpunk 2077" and you'll be able to see by yourself what kind of performance you'll get from the videos available on youtube. There are many benchmarks with that particular hardware and the game you want (in my example Cyberpunk 2077) Hope it helps ! Take care 😉👍

Great build for its price. But I recommend the GTX 970 over the 1050 Ti. It's usually cheaper and most power supplies that are at least 400w can handle it. Maybe to save even more cost, an older i7-3770 or i7-4770 can be considered (but no weaker than that). That's what great about used PC components, plenty of viable options... as long as you ignore 90% of 2023 games.

That is genuinely my HTPC lol. Except the mobo is mATX because of the form factor desirable for HTPC (put mine in Jonsbo v4s case). Other than that it has exactly the same parts (built mine 3 years ago). And it runs like a dream for some couch games. Just built my 7year old niece a PC of her own (well we'll build it together but I gathered and tested the parts, then took it apart) and it is based on i5 7500T (I kinda wanted a low power device for her and miniITX form factor and H110 is the cheapest miniITX Mobo you can find, also wanted to give purpose to my Fractal Design Core 500 case that has been in storage for like 3 years since i replaced my homelab with a proper server) and a 1660 Super. Wild that you can build a very capable PC now for less than $300 that takes less than 200W from the wall under full load. Am eying up a 6600XT as an upgrade for the GPU now. Shame nVidia abandoned compact cards and despite 1660 Super being good, I kinda want something bit more up to date in the system.
@anomonyous
@anomonyous 10 ай бұрын
300 is still too high, tbh. Just because things are less expensive, does not mean they're cheap or as cheap as they used to be at one time. I refuse to let up on companies who charge way more than they should, just because it's less than when they were milking us dry.
@VanBourner
@VanBourner 10 ай бұрын
@@anomonyous I bought all parts second hand apart from RAM and SSD which are dirt cheap now, and a PSU because I do not want to deal with one without warranty given the use case. And idk man, paying a $120 for GPU, $20 for MoBo, $15-25 for case (cheapest core 500 I found), $50 for 500W PSU, $20 for RAM, $25 for SSD and $40 for a CPU and ending up with a very capable system is absolutely great in my books, as someone who has been building computers from second hand parts for 25 years. IDK, used to build pretty bad systems for twice as much 5 years back. Used to be a $800 (adjusted to inflation) for ok machine 20 years back... so having decent machine for under $300 is great to me. My first PC that I got was a office Pentium 2 back in late 90s (what got me to building because that thing was attrocious for games) and that one was $400 adjusted to inflation. And could barely run anything but DOS games. So giving my niece a computer that costs 3/4 of what my first did and her being able to keep up with "the cool kids" that play all of them minecrafts? Yeah, that's great in my books.

It overheats and causes the system to hang often with windows installed. Hope your family member has better luck than I did. (now to watch the rest of the video :P )

First time hearing that. Maybe your case lacks the proper airflow? SSDs rarely overheat, especially if they have good airflow and\or cooling on top of them, like some kind of aluminium piece. Oh, nvm. It's cacheless ssd, those are trash, and worse than HDDs. Idk why companies keep releasing them.

Not bad if you ask me, though to be honest this system (in its current configuration) doesn't actually need a Z370 board - a lower end board would probably be OK. Having said that, the potential is there for GPU and CPU upgrades later on down the line. I don't really like that case because it has minimal front airflow and a lack of optical drive bay. I've recently changed from a case with no airflow, to a case with much better airflow (and DVD drive support!) and the temperatures dropped by about 20'C. Also, I would absolutely NOT recommend 8GB RAM on a budget, due to the amount that Windows and other programs use, I would say 16GB on a budget, 32GB for normal use, and 64GB+ if you need lots of RAM, like myself!
@nightshadelenar
@nightshadelenar 10 ай бұрын
yeah, 8GB is legit dead besides bare office use. 16GB is starting to really become dead as well as DDR4 continues to drop slowly, making 32GB more viable. as for the case, large temperature effects do have a lot of concern. Went from an old discontinued Deepcool case to an older Air 540 and dropped 10°C in ambient case temps, and about 40°C on the GPU (which is a 6700XT). the difference a solid vs mesh front panel can make! granted this is all while doing VR, but older, less efficient GPUs can also benefit similarly, even more so if there's a fan blowing in-line.

First off, just wanna say I’m a long time fan and I wish there were more channels like yours or icebergtech out there. Second, why did you opt for an 8th gen cpu and motherboard over a cheap 12th gen system? I’m not saying they aren’t fit for gaming and i have no idea how much those lga 1151 CPUs and motherboards go for, but you don’t really have a great upgrade path since the only decent upgrade would be the 9900 since most 8th and 9th gen CPUs apart from the 8700 and 9900 lack hyper threading. At least with a cheap h610 and 12100 they’d be able to go up to something like a 13400 and have less vulnerabilities.

unrelated but I was in CEX today and saw a 12500t processor. Being a 35W tdp processor of a fairly recent gen got me thinking about the posibilities of low wattage with the new 40 series being quite low wattage, although some of the chips are quite a bit slower than stock versions. Anyway I brought it, so bring on the low wattage PC. Could be a video idea just a thought, there is also serious overclocking potential with certain B660 and 760 boards, although some of these are not cheap. I noticed a few people on 3d mark running theirs at 5ghz!

Honestly, instead of a 1050TI, for this build I'd pick an rx 580, it's way more powerful at the same price used. My friend bought an RX 580 8gb for just 30 damn euros, and it was well worth it as an upgrade over a 950. It just makes sense to get the best value out of the budget you have for casual gaming. Still, I consider your build to be amazing and i commend you for doing a video like this for people with a lower budget.

Great build tbh, solid gaming pc that probably for bigger game titles will be sufficient in the future. 16gb ddr4,cpu and gpu should last a solid amount of time. And for lower end titles it will be still overkill but its great to have this kind of PC. The only thing that infuriates me is my PC is gonna be outdated in a couple of years, but in 1 year I'll turn 18 and get a job ASAP so I can finally ditch my old PC. Btw I can't find a job in my country because the age that is required for working is 18.
