They're hard to build for videos because they take a while. Mine are usually 4 floors and a basement or 2 and it takes about 20 hours of game footage you've got to cut and chunk down to a 30ish minute or less video. So it's a lot of time in not only building but then video production. I can only put out a video or 2 a week when I build real, real big like when I did the hotel from The Witches. So I get why she does the smaller ones. I focus more on the larger sizes and detail, but then I can't put out as much content and wish I could. I think that's part of her success.

With the platforms and everything it's a great time to try and step out of your comfort zone. The main reason she never liked building mansions is because she always felt the open space was so hard to fill. With platforms though that changes quite a lot. Being able to have different areas raised and such just helps break up a floor plan even in an open room.

I play sims 4 without any expansion packs. Like, my whole game is just base game stuff and in my hallways I add: paintings, desks with stuff like: plants, statues and lamps. And you could also add wall lights to fill up space next to doors or in between windows. And finally, maybe include rugs that go down the hallway and how you can do that is by: connecting rugs/carpets! It's not the best idea since I just have base game stuff but it's better than a empty, boring hallway!

@Eventide2154 жыл бұрын
Think about what you'd put in a hallway yourself. Even though it may not be used the same in game, it still helps. Like a lot of times people use an entryway or hallway to put keys on a table, shoes, etc. You'd typically have a long rug that runs the length of the hallway as well. Mirrors are also a great addition to hallways because they make a space feel bigger and more alive. Chairs are also typically a good thing to add as well. In other words, when it comes to those little spaces like hallways, entryways, and so on that's where you want to spend a lot of time in the "clutter" section.

I find it funny how she always says that she builds her house's the same, and that she's an average builder. But then seconds later you see this amazing mansion. I can't even build a house without it looking like a box with a window :(
@Eventide2154 жыл бұрын
Well, like she says, her houses are just fancy boxes. You start with a box then add more boxes to it. Typically that first box is what gets the main roof, then you copy it and put roofing on all the other boxes. That'll give you pretty much what she builds. When it comes to building the actual house it's very easy, just do something different and weird then work with it. It's furnishing that's hard.. the annoying wood tones..
@americanbookdragon4 жыл бұрын
I made a tiny house yesterday. I had to change the house today after knocking up the girlfriend, but it's still tiny. I only have one roof, but I made most of the 2nd floor a large balcony and it made it look so much better.

Sometimes the hallways and bathrooms are the hardest parts to make interesting and good so watching these gives me ideas for my own builds, I’d like to see those sometimes
@Eventide2154 жыл бұрын
Hallways are mostly clutter when it comes down to it. A table, long rug, plant, lights mirrors, etc then filled with clutter objects. Bathrooms are the same. Toilet, shower/tub, sink, mirror, maybe a laundry basket, and so on. From there just fill it with clutter like toothbrushes, a cabinet for linens, and so on. Just think about things you have in your own house. Most of the things we have don't have an actual function in the game, but they make it feel more homely which helps get you even more attached.
@piercedsiren4 жыл бұрын
One word: clutter. Of course Sims doesnt let you clutter too much without using cheats so if you want them : CTRL - SHIFT - C at the same time. (PC) testingcheats on/off (needed for most cheats) bb.moveobjects on/off bb.showhiddenobjects (needed for the next code) bb.showliveeditobjects And placing items freely by using move objects and alt. Also downsizing items. Or the opposite.
@Eventide2154 жыл бұрын
@@piercedsiren Moveobjects is the only necessary one here for clutter items. The hidden and liveedit objects is just for getting access to other things that aren't typically accessible. Also, you don't need testingcheats for moveobjects. You can also alt place things even without moveobjects, but you can't overlap them.
@piercedsiren4 жыл бұрын
@@Eventide215 i just gave cheats that helps. They don't have to use all of them. Beside testing cheats is useful for most cheats anyway. And alt placing objects can't work of you want two objects to be close without move objects.

I love watching your videos for the landscaping and the layouts since I always struggle with that when I build

Omg wait I'm obsessed with "Happy Speedbuild Sunday" 🥺👉👈. I liked seeing the outside and inside being done equally as much.

I do the listening to streams in the background a lot too Kayla! It helps a lot with my anxiety. I hate public places and crowds, but I also hate being alone for long periods of time!

You’ve made two mansions in a few weeks meanwhile I got too upset making a tiny apartment and quit

Speed build Sunday is the most important day of the week! Loved the mansion.

I love furnishing, maybe less outdoors especially with landscaping but the front door and patio areas are interesting

To be honest Kayla, I like looking at both furnishing and outside, mainly the landscaping and furnishings. I love your videos!!
