Finally some DSM love. I have a GSX since 1998. I have a list if suggestions you may want to look through. First thing for safety reasons is to change the front straight lower arms. They will break if they are worn out and if they do you can get in a serious accident specially on high speeds. That happened to me and thank God I didn't get into an accident.

Damn.. you guys nailed it with that one! DSMs will always hold their place in the modified car world. I owned a 97 gsx in the early 2000s, loved it. 4g63 is such a awesome motor. Well done fellas...

The 1st gen and 2nd gen Eclipse was definitely a fun car. I remember buying a 1997 GS-T new in 97 and thought it was the shizzle. Loved the Mustang guys trying to hate back then and seeing me pass them up haha Just the look on their faces. Great car, the 4G63 in these cars is not the same as in the later Evo's, but is the same 4G63 as the earliest Evo's (1-3 I believe). Tons of potential. So happy to see you guys were able to get a GSX. Not an easy find these days for sure. Looking forward to see what they do with this GSX. No Wide Body Please 😎

These got the 7 bolt 4G63 which is prone to crank walk. The 1G got the 6 bolt which was pretty rock solid

@@smgs921 yeah there was different variations the 4g63 that everyone knows from the evo 8 forward is a lot different the head is completely different the engines put in differently but still a very Stout engine nonetheless 👍

What I mean and I should clarify this when the engines put in differently versus the different types of 4g63s that were in the eclipses versus the evos if you open up the hood of an eclipse and look at the engine the timing belt is on the right hand side on an EVO it's on the left hand side so there's similarities but differences but both versions of the 4g63 are very Stout and are capable of making some crazy horsepower and some very fast cars 😎👍

I love that the throtl wrapped the world rally blue. It protects the original paint and will feel like christmas when the winner unwraps it to reveal the original color!

don't forget the transfer case to upgrade when going 400 horse they need a upgrade for strength or the dreaded wheel lock up can happen when it it self destructs and maybe upgrade the half shafts too so you don't break those. But this is getting me beyond excited to see how you guys do a F&F eclipse.

If it’s for the 7 bolt 4g63 (7 bolts in valve cover), they are prone to crank walk. If you have a 6 bolt, you boys hit the jackpot because that motor is from the earlier model eagle talon’s and much better.

First car I bought was a 97 eclipse rs with the 420a that I paid $600 for. I had a friend go look at it since he lived close to the owner. I knew it had a blown head gasket but the owner didn't drive it afterwards. I bought it sight unseen and learned the piston rings were fried. I was a broke kid at the time so I didn't have the money to fix it. Parked it on my side street. Plates expired and the day after(less than 12hrs after expiring) a cop towed it on his break. I didn't have any way to get the car from impound since it needed towed. Ive been hunting one down for a good price ever since

I just sold mine.... It was one of the cleanest GSXs in the southeast, everything was done, kept ac, power steering etc, was in barcelona red pearl, had under 100k original miles, no CEL. You guys make me regret selling it
