Greetings from the south of France. Thanks for a great and helpful video sharing some innovative ideas as upgrades. I have the exact same machine and would not be without it. My only comment, NOT, a complaint is having shown the construction of the excellent table, I would have liked to see the trueing / levelling up as you fitted it. I have had some fun sorting mine 😂. Thanks again!

@@trickster11300 thank you very much for the compliment and also thank you for watching. That particular saw was hard to true up and it would have the overall video longer. It took me a long time to calibrate that saw. I recommend watching the videos by brian weekly. Also the books that i mention are a tremdous help

OMG! How do you have any fingers or hands left? You have a Radial Arm Saw AND a Shopsmith! As they are the two MOST dangerous tools in a wood shop! 😈. Sorry, making fun of those who make those comments. I have both and still have all digits. Nicely done video! Enjoy your tools!

Do you have any plans to miter long boards? The tracks seem like it would interfere. The miter fence seems like it would work well for short boards/board ends, but if you get into a situation of mitering the middle of a long board? Plan to just cross cut then miter? Also, any plans to use a dado blade? The t track is pretty tight for that but I guess it’s secured with hand screws so you could adjust it out. I’m planning a bench (aren’t we all) and plan to put tracks parallel to the blade but outside the swing radius so no need for the miter block, and a track on the fence similar to what you have. Planning mine as a built in about 18’ long with the saw in the middle.

thanks for watching the video and also leaving feedback. I plan to use this mostly fo crosscuts. There is a way to cut miters with the "broken fence method". Brian Weekley has a really good video and videos on everything you mentioned.

@@cannonwoodworking5917 I see where he is trying to go with it. But don’t agree with the reasoning. There’s a lot of ways to skin that miter cat so it’s not wrong by any means. Reducing the amount of error by not swinging the saw then adding error back in with an auxiliary fence is two steps forward and one step back. I do like the idea of not moving the saw if you’re not at 45.0 degrees for small items, but my initial concern is still a concern. For one side of the miter you are limited to under a couple feet, if you need to make a miter in the middle of a board over a couple feet long then the method there doesn’t work. Not a big deal.
