Love the idea of having the swim through the river (more or less) freely! I actually was at our local zoo today and they have peacocks walking everywhere. I'd really love to be able to do that in the game without building a giant walk-through habitat. 😅 Didn't see any beavers tho 👀

Oh yes I think we also have some zoos with running wild peacocks 😄 you should be able to do this in planet zoo as well.. however, making one big habitat (like I did in Inama Zoo) makes your game run super slow etc especially when recalculating the traversable area all the time, lol.. so I doubt its worth it 😄

So it turns out there are a few minor differences between American and European beavers, European beavers are bigger, have shorter fur and don’t have as round of tails, American beavers also have longer legs, the European beaver also has a bigger and less rounded head with a more narrow muzzle. And fun fact: when a beaver finds a dangerous predator near the water such as an otter or wolf, the beaver will warn all the other beavers by slapping their tails against the water. I did something similar. My zoo has a large harbour, so I put seals in it and they are supposed to be wild. I used San Francisco's Pier 39 as an inspiration. I used null barriers and selected escapes off. No fences at all for them. I hid the keeper gate as well.

Beavers actually have a natural instinct to create a dam. Zoologists did a study where captive beavers were given the sound of running and splashing waters, and the beavers attempted to block the sound by placing branches and mud ON TOP OF THE SPEAKER! I don't know if its possible in planet zoo, but dams create different water levels because the dam makes the water pool up and reduces the flow downwards, sometimes even results in no water downriver

Very interesting! The Beavers in the game cant make a natural dam, unless you give them a little pool enrichment item ☺ That one just doesnt really fit in this habitat, so thats why I didnt place the enrichment item tbh ☺ other than that they wont be able to build their own dams in the game ☺

DeLadySigner The Moose is the Highest animal in game after the Giraffe and Elephant, Imo it should be the next one, And it needs space, Something like the Polar Bear Habitat just half in size being more lush would be super cool!!!

I love the idea of them just being animals that happen to live at the zoo instead of being zoo animals. I love going to the zoo and seeing the way local wild life just accepts the exotic animals. One visit to my local zoo, we stood by the giraffes for half an hour watching rabbits grazing and playing in the enclosure, just totally cool with the giant giraffes running around nearby.

I'm sure it would be terrible for graphics and gameplay rates but I would love to see rabbits, squirrels, groundhogs, and pigeons and geese, etc. Not as habitat or placeable animals but just as randomly generated local wildlife. It would be too much to do though since they would need to do different kinds of local wildlife for every biome and continent. Maybe they could do them as effects (like a waterfall) but instead it's just a little patch of pigeons or a few bunnies? 🤔

Sounds super exciting Land Of The Cold is coming back! It is so amazing! The Moose, Arctic Fox, Prarie Dog and Cougar are just so perfect there, Also DeLady if you do end up making a new NA area in the Land Of The Cold you should concider adding the Pronghorn Antelope near the Moose since the two represt National Parks, And maybe but just maybe the Grizzly Bear too just to squeeze the last NA Animal There too.

Im going to build a different North America area indeed ☺ some animals of this pack will go to the Land of the Cold and indeed some other animals will end up more in that North America area. These are the lists I made that I think would work, what do you think? (Thats including the animals we already have obviously ☺) and I think we should move the Snow Leopards to Little Asia and I still have a bit of my doubts about the Timber Wolves, because they could also fit into Little Asia ☺ City Zoo | North America Area Prairie Dog Cougar Grizzly Bear Moose Beaver Pronghorn Antelope Timber Wolf City Zoo | Land of the Cold Arctic Fox Bison Arctic Wolf Sea Lion Dall Sheep Grey Seal Polar Bear Reindeer King Penguin What do you think?

As we speak trying to figure out exactly where I am going to add all these animals and where this North America Area is going to fit best. I maybe just gonna delete that Snow Leopard habitat in the Land of the Cold, so I have space to expand the Land of the Cold area to the backside and maybe connected to that, but more behind the South America Dome, can be the North America Area also later to be connected to the backside of Little Asia.. I think that might fit best ☺

If you want to see a beaver, they live in the Biesbosch near Dordrecht. You can take a trip on whisper silent boats from Natuurmonumenten (I think). They have a nice area for injured beavers near the information centre and museum. Highly recommend! In the summer you can rent kanoes and have a picnic on one of the numerous islands. Beavers are big. Way bigger than I imagined.

Amazing habitat! Interesting thing about beavers though is that there dams actually help to filtrate water (just like a sieve). So if this enclosure is downstream from the dam, which I guess it is, it should have pretty clear water 😊 🦫

I love all of your designs so inspirational city zoo by far is my favourite. Can I ask do you remove/untick the box in settings regarding foliage needs of animals. I always find my animals become stressed because there’s to much but to much is never enough .. right ?

Would you consider making a beaver habitat that has a vantage point going under their dam, into their lodge, kinda like a cave ? It's usually a staple in zoos with beavers in them, and I'd really be looking for a KZbinr attempting something similar :)

With the Southeast Asia Animal Pack being my least favorite pack ☺ But at the end of the day, you should just get the DLC's and animals you like the most yourself ♥ On Instant Gaming (link in the description in every video) you can get Steam keys with a discount for all packs ♥ depending where you live, you might even be able to get 3 packs for the price of 2 if you would get it on Steam directly ;) ♥

I show how to create a workzone as well in the Animal Talk Seating area tutorial ☺ You need at least a staff room, keepers hut and habitat in 1 workzone and asign it to a keeper to make it work ☺

Do you make sure the plants within the habitat are correct for the animals? And that you’re meeting and not exceeding animal coverage needs? I always worry about that because I prefer to take care of the animals and not just focus on aesthetics!

Nope I never do ☺ I play sandbox mode so I dont look at all to what the game says the animals need ☺ So thats the difference between how we play ;) you want to focus more on the animals care and needs and I play more creatively with 100% freedom in what I do :P

You probably know this but if u don’t, set the game to only 3000 visitors and the lag will disappear. Had a big problem with that before and now even with big builds it never lags.

Seriously! I really thought I had City Zoo for months already on the lowest settings being like 500 guests, because I know this also was a thing in Planet Coaster (reducing guests would reduce the lag, simply as that).. but I just had to check my settings again of City Zoo.. and it has over 5000 guests in there :') so OMG thank you so much for reminding me to check this! Was honestly going insane with the amount of FPS drops and lag lately, LOOOL! so THANK YOU ♥

I really wonder when I changed this myself, I can't imagine I actually did.. maybe with the new sandbox settings something was reset and it just opened the zoo for so many people again, lol!

Not sure yet if it really improved my FPS honestly.. when playing the game it may have given me one FPS extra, lol! But in pause mode it seems to be improved a few FPS, so it definitely helped a bit looking at these settings and changing them back ♥ Thanks again haha!
