Changed a lot over the last two years, for the better I would say once the vegetation has grown. I have worked that area in the quarrying industry most of my life, I remember it being fields before the M42 went through it which I worked on…….yes i’m that old!😂
@NuFish19 сағат бұрын
Yes once it has time to grow there is no doubt it will become a thriving fishery

Great fishery to be but very baron and no feature's or trees around so will be open to the wind when she blows .
@robertstibz9506Күн бұрын
I have never fished a commercial fishery, where the fish only survive because of anglers bait thrown in and never will, Carp the odd few are enough in a fishery for me. Natural is best, where fish can survive without the *need* for anglers bait. btw I've been an angler for near on 60yrs.
@NuFish16 сағат бұрын
That’s a shame as you are missing out on some good fishing
@PatrickJHNewman6 сағат бұрын
I'll wager that in a few years' time the same people who are saying it's too barren will be complaining it's overgrown.

Fair play to the investors putting money into fishing and good luck to them too I love fishing and love being in the outdoors too to enjoy nature and the wildlife etc The reason I would not go to this venue is it looks like a moonscape and in Winning Ways videos there seems to be some ugly things in the background beyond the lakes and I don’t mean Andy, Jamie or Rich
@NuFishКүн бұрын
That’s HS2 I’m afraid and will be gone when it either goes bankrupt or finished 👍🏻
@Mark-mo6gtКүн бұрын
@ Thanks Mick I’m nearly 60 years old now so probably won’t be here to see HS2 go either way… On another matter when is Detexion coming to Ireland 🇮🇪 as I’ve had to order it in from UK and the delivery charge makes it more expensive???

Can no one think of new lake names ? .. yourll find a willow, elm or oak at just about every fishery around

nice video but you guys just announced the name of the winning ways lake before winning ways or map did it themselves :/
@NuFishКүн бұрын
It's been in the match results for weeks and on marstons own Facebook live feeds etc for weeks so it isn't a secret! It isn't our fault if MAP don't want to film up there
@VxFallingКүн бұрын
@ that’s fair enough. I hadn’t seen that but I’m not sure why they haven’t announced it. Nice video regardless

To improve the habitat and aesthetics all these lakes need to be planted up, otherwise they are simply holes in the ground. Your banks will erode, the fish have zero cover there's no natural food or nursery areas.
@martinbaker8072Күн бұрын
we had 2 club matches there last summer and people were dry netting. Needless to say our club will never bookm this venue again as it was the worst fishery we have visited.
@peterthornton8520Күн бұрын
Obviously anglers such as Mick Vails, Joe Carass, Andy May, Jamey Hughes to mention but a few are just very lucky. We all have had instances where we have had anglers dry netting but to Blacklist a venue like that is utter madness. I think Marsten Fields has a great future and I will have no objection to visit the Venue with my Club in the near future. Good Video Mick
@NuFishКүн бұрын
That's a shame. But we were very impressed with the work going in and the numbers of fish being stocked also!
@adamhousden6349Күн бұрын
dont blame you, pointless going if a team blanked, did spot some nice big waters in the background prob about a mile from this place, now they actually look good. but this is without a doubt a noddy water
@NeilPickering-v7jКүн бұрын
Really?? Fished this venue many times on different lakes never not caught
@DannyFR30Күн бұрын
All match lakes are noddy waters. There's 8 million fish per square ft. @adamhousden6349
@pmay2228 сағат бұрын
i hope they are adding trees and bushes it looks bleak as fook .... no character... an why dont they put a few deeper 6ftx6ft holes in every peg to hold bonus fish and give shelter etc.. few underwater features to mix the pegs up... it will become an end peg draw lottery otherwise.....

Put "commercial" before anything and youll kill it. Course fishing was great before these horrible places, River and lake matches with hundreds on every week all round the country, now the licencing authority says there wont be fishing in a few years time.
@NuFishКүн бұрын
We have also shot some lovely river stuff of late. Commercial fisheries are not for everyone but they do offer convenient fishing for a lot of people.
