Few notes about this video: * Thanks for all the advice so far. I'm new to most of this stuff, so bits and pieces of information are useful and I'm keeping your comments in mind. * Regarding the motherboard I/O meta sheet thing, I threw it away because I had no idea what it was for. 😆 That's alright though, if I feel like it I'll purchase a new one. * Regarding temperature, the case itself does have a few fans that I didn't show clearly in the video, then I also have the CPU fan and a few on my Nvidia GPU. I know they're small and not the best, but I haven't seen any temperature issues so far across the past few months of gaming. If I notice that the temperature of any of the components is getting a bit high, I'll purchase a set of fans and add them to the build. I appreciate the comments on this. * After installing the Nvidia GPU and taking out the AMD GPU, all of my recording and crashing issues are solved! I also like Nvidia's configuration software better too.

First time viewer, good video but there are a few things I would recomend especially if you're not super into PCs. 1.)Get a anti-sag bracket for your graphics card - you want this because with modern GPUs getting larger and heavier, they tend to sag at the end of the card and besides it not looking good overtime it can actually damage the PCIe slot on your motherboard and maybe even break it. 2.)Getting a different CPU cooler - The 7800x3D is the best gaming CPU on the market and is known to run pretty hot and although there are definitely air coolers that can adequatley support a CPU like this one (Most notably Noctua products) getting a 240mm or 280mm (whichever is compatible with your case) AIO liquid cooler (Corsair, Artctic, EK, Cooler Master) would be a safe choice. The one downside to an AIO is their lifespan is typically 5-7 and if you dont plan on upgrading in that time a Noctua air cooler would be the way to go. I did see a comment where you said your CPU temperatures were fine and if thats the case even when the CPU is underload for a long time then no need to upgrade. 3.)Adding case fans for airflow - The Arctic fans you returned in the video should've been used for improved airflow most notably 2 in front of the case for intake and two on top that are also intake. This is to help draw fresh cool air to your components and improve their performance and longevity. 4.)Updating all the latest drivers - On the manufactures product page for your motherboard they will have the latest version of your Bios version as well as audio drivers, ethernet drivers, etc which I'll leave a link on how to install. Same goes for your GPU you can go on AMDs or Nvidias website and enter the model # and install the latest version and after installing the zip file follow the prompts on the intall wizard. If you're using AMD you can download Adrenalin and install drivers through there and with Nvidia their app is called GeForce Experience. NOTE: Driver and Bios updates come out every so often so check every once in a while to see if you have any updates. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpanlK1ne7yfl7ssi=95TO13-mGpOqTKXa 5.)Enable XMP/EXPO on your RAM - You only get the advertised speeds of your RAM if you enable it in your motherboards Bios otherwise it will run at a lower speed. Don't do this unless your system is already stable and has been working without it changed since this is technically "overclocking" your memory. Didnt mean to come off as annoying or a know it all and I'm just trying to help let me know if this was helpful :)

Great video! I did wanna mention when you were talking about encoding, h.264/265 are CPU bound encoding, so If you’re crashing while with that it’s not GPU related. AVI is the GPU encoding chip in AMD cards. On Nvidia cards they have the invenc chip in GPU’s for encoding. Sorry you had problems with AMD stuff.

You forgot to put the IO shield on the back of your motherboard, you barely have any case fans, it may not run hot now but it will later if you play very demanding games.

Cosmic Reach uses OpenGL in a bad way - it doesn't technically violate the API but it does things that are unfavorable - so I'm not *too* surprised by its issues. Operating systems are insanely complicated, so the fact that they all kinda suck is not too surprising. Linux is getting better, Windows is getting worse, and MacOS is the same as it was 10 years ago. They all have piles of issues. I personally use Pop!_OS for everything - web browsing, gaming, programming, everything one uses a computer for. Admittedly I generally avoid MMO and AAA games, which are the ones that Linux tends to struggle with. Accidentally throwing things away is such a silly thing to do, and yet it's something everyone has done way too many times lol. I avoid getting rid of anything until as late as possible, with the downside of having a lot of extra junk lying around.

I’d like to see the rendering code for the game once it’s open source.
@bluesillybeard
@bluesillybeard 5 ай бұрын
@@tortellini_soup It's not too hard to decompile the game and see what's going on. I did that last month, and it was a HUGE mess. Raw OpenGL calls in all kinds of random places, copy-paste code all over the place. It was a confusing pile of spaghetti code. All things considered, it's actually not too bad - roughly on the same level as Minecraft. Hopefully he's been cleaning things up - he got it working on mac, so I imagine it's improved a lot since I last looked. I'm super busy right now, but I'll inspect at the latest version sometime soon to see if anything has changed. I might even record a video going over it, but we'll have to see.
@tortellini_soup
@tortellini_soup 5 ай бұрын
@@bluesillybeard Raw OpenGL calls are an unfortunate side effect of using libgdx as a rendering backend. That’s part of the reason I don’t really like using generalized rendering backends: if you’re trying to do clever things, you have to learn how whatever framework you’re using is managing GPU data and carefully create your own graphics code around it. Would be good to see an overview of the rendering code he’s got so far, otherwise I’ll wait to hear about future updates to clean things up.

as already said, but I want to put emphasis since it's really important for stability but even more for longevity of your component, you need a new CPU cooler, like Deepcool Deepcool AK620 or the Peerless Assassin 120. Also you absolutely need to install the pc fans. It's really cheap and easy, there is simply no reason to not have fan. I really doubt that you pc doesn't run hot at all under heavy gaming. You a literally playing with fire. It's the first time I see a pc build without any pc fans actually.

I'm using a DeepCool AS500 for my 5800X3D. It idles at 29-30c and in Cinebench it doesn't go above 82c (I have not done any settings to the CPU, it's 100% stock) also, room temp around 21c. Yeah, this cooler is great, not sure the plus version, or the Assassin III, would perform much better. I'm very happy with it. The only thing getting a bit hot is my XFX 6950 XT Black Edition card.

@@tortellini_soup The thing with temp, is when it's go bad, it's kind of bad and can cause damage. I'm in the thinking of "better than be sorry".
