Upon reading helpful feedback from you guys, I have a recommendation for 4 relatively inexpensive parts to substitute in this build to increase stability and make the computer more up to date: Motherboard: ASRock B365M-HDV a.co/d/gm6MYYS CPU: Intel Core i3-9100f (cheapest when purchased pre-owned, listing prices vary) www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313&_nkw=Intel+Core+I3-9100f&_sacat=0 RAM: OLOy DDR4 RAM, 2x16GB a.co/d/gPAb3xu Graphics: GeForce GT 730 a.co/d/dediOtd Substituting these parts in our build increases our cost to around $300 but will increasing graphics performance and system stability when running Windows 10/11.

I can appreciate the message in this video of tackling this as a first build on a budget, but at the end it feels a bit misleading saying you can add whatever you need to make it your own with the disclaimer that to migrate to a modern platform would require a different system board, RAM potentially - especially in the case of using DDR2 - and there may be parts you can’t reuse like a PCI 8400GS if a jump to a board w/o PCI lanes happens. Certainly a good spotlight for eBay and thrifting used parts on a budget, but the warning should be given like another review said that you could get a more modern office PC for half or a quarter your budget and use the rest to spec it up.

I couldn't justify spending this much money on a "budget computer" this thing will be unusable compared to buying a used office pc for the same price or less. This is a lot of work to end up with a slower computer that will be obselete significantly faster than buying a used office computer for the same price or less, they even sell complete used systems right on ebay where you bought half of this.

Building a computer from scratch takes some skill, and it’s not for everyone. You certainly can buy one pre-built. But if you do decide to go my route, like I said in the video, if you’re worried it will be unstable, you can swap out the motherboard, CPU, RAM, etc. for newer parts to improve performance!

@TecHead-2000 I've been building computers since the early 2000s, my point is that you are recommending people buy used ancient hardware and build a computer that will perform worse, and not last as long compared to buying a complete used computer and upgrading it. A core 2 duo is still usable, but you can get an i5 or i7 for the same price, and recommending someone pay money for an nvidia card as old as the 8000 series for anything is mind boggling.
