Do you think you need 6 posts for 18'x18' Using 6x6 Posts? Or would 4 be enough?

It depends on the availability of 18' boards.

Have a question for attached pergola with 20x18 dimension I am running 2X8 for Rafters and 2x12 for beams. I am planning to install rain proof on top. Do I need have blocking between the rafters which are running 18 feet from ledger to beam?

I would say it depends somewhat on the kind of roof you use. Also, If you notch the 2X8s into the 2X12's, that would strengthen it better than using blocking. Good luck.
