That tool to hold the nail to hammer without hitting the shingle is pretty cool. What does it call?

How do you determine what Riser to use as far as height? I have a 3-12 pitch on my current roof. I want to go 12 ft from the outside wall of my house.

I love this idea. I want a patio cover but need access to the gutters to clean them.

What boards are those that have grooves in them for the roof part? Do they come like that or did you have to cut the grooves in?

I love the look but would this be ideal for Pennsylvania weather? High winds and snow climate etc? Just cutting into my roof and creating a problem isn't what I need but my deck is on 2nd floor so having something like this seems nice

Would this technique be okay for a front porch ?

I wonder about the top plate taking on the wind load? oscillation and drywall cracking. I'm not an engineer but seems sketchy to me

I don't much like piercing the watertight seal of the roof. Seems like yet another place for water damage to occur. And I've seen severe water damage caused by attaching the pergola to the fascia. Why does the pergola have to be attached to the house at all? What's wrong with a freestanding pergola next to the house?

I’m sorry but this is one of the most stupid and horrible products I’ve ever seen. Ya sure let’s penetrate in multiple places thru a persons roof , for the sake of a pergola? And on top of that , it looks hideous with those bars sticking out of the roof. I can’t believe someone actually was told that he had a good idea. I guess there are “ yes men” everywhere, not just in sports
