Can we get a reboot? An can I suggest: 1. A daggerboard for stability . 2. Can we go all Tim Allen on the suction pump and give it MORE POWER!??? 3. A single arm at the nose so it can pivot off walls. Basically, think boat! Great vid, thanks! 👍

i did that too, but instead of a roomba i used a arduino robot car set with ultrasound sensor to detet walls. 3d printed the housing, made it float on 4 1.5 l Pet bottles (2 on each side) and added a solar panel and a battery. actually had 3 broken roombas ins some box, but didnt think of using them for that :) I faced the same issue with the debris being pushed away instead of going into the net. Kind of solved that issue by switching from paddle wheels to a RC boat Jet motor installed behind the net and controlled it with a stepper motor that turned left or right once the sensor detected an wall. But it resulted in a new issue.. the boat kept on driving in circles, matter how many times i adjusted the angle of the motor. And then there was the problem of the 3d printed parts slowly warping over time. so gave it up at some point.

A jet boat sounds so much more fun! I agree that 3D printed pool accessories are probably not a long term solution!

@@electrosync true.. also tried PETG and a PLA -ABS blend material, but didnt solve the problem. at the moment im still seaching for some way to coat 3d prints in something that makes usable outdoors.. there must be something.

maybe just have the bot move a little slower to give it more to suck the water in.

How much did this cost
@electrosync2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, maybe a hundred bucks on top of the cost of the cheap Roomba knock off. Filament, a few electronic bits, fasteners and materials. It did take some time though!

Also fun fact, on the ones that have a tarp liner, you can shuffle in socks to clean the stubborn gunk if your brush isn’t getting it up.

Why is the music so dang loud, it's rather distracting for the music to jump from 600% to 50% every 5 seconds.
