This is the best landscape placement I've seen of Lion Knight's Castle or the Town Square. I saw you and Brickcrafts using those "art plates" as a base and bought 4 at my local Bricks & Minifigs (BAM) store. USD $6 each means I'm going to be buying a few at a time for quite a while before I do a big landscape. Love to see what you did with the waterfall & port.
@1by1Brick18 сағат бұрын
Yeah they are abit pricey, the light nougat ones are usually cheaper than olive green and black

I am always impressed by how casually you can work great angles into the grid. I bet that crosspiece on the crane took more than a few attempts to get right. Well done, keep it up.
@1by1Brick16 күн бұрын
The crane definitely wasn’t a casual build, quite a few hours went into it mainly the cross member as you thought aswell as the handle bars section, first iteration was different. I had to sleep on it and redesign the next day 😅

I'm loving this series so far. I've watched the farms diorama series as well. This channel is highly underrated. As a little constructive criticism, I think the crane looks a little small and flimsy. I think it would look better if it was maybe 1 or 2 bricks taller and a little thicker. Keep up the good work.
@1by1Brick15 күн бұрын
Thanks for the critique! This is the 2nd iteration of the crane, the first version was bigger but i thought it looked out of scale to the buildings in the sets so i downsized it to this

Bro this is the best medieval MOC I have ever seen you are truly the best builder. Any tips on buying pieces or building the MOCs that you've got? I'm Fr trynna make something like this someday.
@1by1Brick16 күн бұрын
Thanks, not sure what experience you have with moc building but I’d suggest starting smaller first and working out what piece types you gravitate to when building terrain. From there you can focus on buying those types of pieces. Like for me i found wedge plates to be my preferred piece so i focused on buying those

I've always considered the Lion Knights to by very inland with lush forests and fields. I like see another interpretation with less greenery and next to the ocean.
@1by1Brick17 күн бұрын
I agree, but I usually prefer building seaside settings when possible, somehow it feels more fulfilling. Probably because I grew up playing alot of Lego pirates 😊
@rikyeh521317 күн бұрын
Another banger! But the pillars of the dock now look like they hover above the water, is there a technique to vertically built the pillars down! That would look spectacular. (It already does tho)
@1by1Brick16 күн бұрын
Thanks, thats the drawback of building off grid, if i move it to be more inline with studs for connection, there will be a gap between the port and the main path at the corner

@@1by1Brick The English cog ship is one of the most famous ships of the medieval age, it would be especially cool if you did a cog warship. I have made a few myself and always look pretty good. Very easy to make.
@1by1Brick16 күн бұрын
Yeah I was thinking the cog ship would be a good starter type of ship for me since I've never built a medieval era ship, seems to be the simplest but I think I'll be building twin mast lateen sails so it will be an unusual kind of cog ship. Haven't fully decided yet though. Grew up playing pirates so I'm used to building colonial type ships.
