@@FlyingSModels ok, and i definatly as the virus has turned my life upside down as it has many others, and somehow i saw a "going out of biz sale" at store similiar to Michaels and made the jump back to models after 25+yrs. But my brother and i arent slappin them together just to pellet gun them and fill'm with firecrackers this time around. We had some real beauties back then but mentally, lol.. So im constantly coming to hurdles, but YT has really helped. Great Work👍and again thanks for uploading your pieces

Thanks! Always many ways to get to the same or end result. Haven't tried cardboard but I know that some manufacturers already produce printed paper bases so that definitely works too.

I absolutely love the Argentinian corsair and with that base it looks fantastic! I wonder if a similar technique could be used to simulate a naval aircraft sitting on the deck of an aircraft carrier?
@FlyingSModels
@FlyingSModels 3 жыл бұрын
Appreciate that, David. It was a really cool project and I think the base made it stand out even more. You sure could use this technique to create a carrier deck if you wanted. You would just change the scribe patter to match the carrier deck and paint it a little different, per the carrier deck reference images. Probably not as much oil staining and such but it would be easy enough to replicate.

Hunka sheet plastic, some contact cement and a sheet of wet sandpaper in the scale-appropriate grit, but nothing more coarse than 1000. Because carrier flight decks are coated with non-skid paint. You can even mask it and paint it.
