What type of material do you use as walls? It looks very nice, is it very durable against water, wind? Very nice loft !
@Rocky.Ridge.Pigeons2 жыл бұрын
It is a siding and sheathing all in one. It seems to last very well. But I always give an extra coat of paint

It’s just divided into two sections right now. But it’s mainly going to be for breeding. Then stock loft after that season. It is 8 x 12 - my plans always are changing haha 😁

how high do you need to raise the loft off the ground? what type of foundation do you use? cannot rats chew holes in the wood?
@Rocky.Ridge.Pigeons3 жыл бұрын
Hey forest man, I just put the loft high enough so that I can rake underneath it. The foundation is a crushed stone compacted and cinderblocks on top. I haven’t seen any signs of rats trying to chew their way in. Thanks for watching and you can check out the video before that one where I show the foundation.

What’s the cost you think for a loft that size
@Rocky.Ridge.Pigeons4 жыл бұрын
Hi, I have about 1500.00 into this one. Which I thought was pretty good considering a shed that size start at 3500.00 they you have to start converting it to fit you needs. Great question, thanks.

Very Nice, Im trying to get started with like 500-800 soon
@Rocky.Ridge.Pigeons4 жыл бұрын
@@MythDealer There is so many ways to save money doing this kind of thing especially if you have access to some used materials or leftover materials. This price is for buying all the materials new. Best of luck. Let me know how you do.

Greetings from Holland, can you advice me how to keep cats away from my pigeons, as we have lots of house/stray cats in Holland, I do want my pigeons to be free out side in loft in my back yard, and they be free to come and go when they wish. Thank you.

I’m not sure my friend I never had that problem. The cats that are wild around here stay far away from us. Wish you best of luck.
