I generally watch time-lapse videos as I like to see what the building process is like, but you do such a good job of breaking down what pieces you used and your techniques that it honestly feels like I'm not missing much! Great video, excited to see more in this series.

This looks great!! The buildings are so nice and, I don't want to say quaint, maybe friendly? I'm loving the low budget style, water parks stress me out but this feels more like a souped up public pool, I think I'd like it there. One thing with the wave pool, is I'd expect a LOT of caution signs, and maybe just around the park in general. No running, no dive bombing, etc.

Looking at that shingle siding made me think a coastal / boardwalk pack would be fun… clapboard and shingle siding, lighthouse pieces, etc crazy how you built a wall piece out of that single bit. I think my computer would fall over.

I really like this realistic sleek park design. The scale feature is so useful for those kinda builds. But I agree, as you showed it, the bins and benches are just way too themed. I would love if there would just be a super simple placeholder in a U shape. Or even the option to make that invisible all together and just have scenery there. But so far this will be a promising series. 👍
@mineraljunction
@mineraljunction 2 ай бұрын
thanks, mate! and yes absolutely agree, some really simple, plain picnic benches, normal benches, bins etc would be really nice so we could just easily decorate them ourselves. I understand most players don't want to do that haha, but we just need like one of each... please frontier! 🙏

Michigan's Adventure is my home park and I think it's actually quite funny that it is such the archetype of low budget and generic that it is being used for artistic study. The attention to the detail of "good enough" is astounding and I can feel barely-maintained status quo through the screen 👍👍👍

With the whole people walking through one solution you could use is staff paths in the spots you dont want guests to go in. Since theres far less staff than guests you wont see them go through items all the time.
@mineraljunction
@mineraljunction 2 ай бұрын
i've since found out you can sink bins and benches underground to block people so i'm going to try that. the issue with the staff paths is its very difficult to get the patches small enough for some of the areas i've got there to block off

Very excited for this series! Unfortunately I believe the issue with the terrain occasionally not lining up with the curbs is due to a misalignment between the voxel grid that the volumetric terrain uses and the path geometry, and I don't think there's an easy way for Frontier to patch that. I bet you could use a scaled down rock or piece of planter dirt to fill it in though! Or, if you want to be super realistic, just leave it as is and say that it's an intentional mini ditch for water drainage so it doesn't flood the path when it rains... or something.

You're a grade-A genius-seriously. Once again, you showcase the very best of what these games can do!! Your Advanced Move trick on the trash bin, though--that's literally groundbreaking. I wonder if it works for benches too? Btw, I totally agree with you that we need even more generic bins and benches like the blue-and-white ones from PlanCo1. The Escape-key issue is definitely a Console carryover. That's how you have to navigate through Console, but usually can easy leave all menus by pressing an holding the Console equivalent of Escape. I'm willing to bet it wasn't meant to function that way on PC, but I'm so curious if on PC holding Escape briefly would take you entirely out of the building you're editing?

Looks great so far. My mind just doesn't work that way of seeing a piece (like that Viking piece) and using it as a roof/building. But you do it very well and it looks incredible. Getting out of the menus is driving me nuts on console as well. They changed the way to interact with the menus from planco and zoo, it makes building very difficult for me. Like when editing a building i still cannot figure out how to multi select!!! I used to be able to hold x and select what i want. now i have to go to a pop up menu, select multi select, and it does nothing, does not work when editing a building. I just don't understand why they would change how we interact with menus when its been the same for years with planco and zoo. Also it seems there are missing pieces like the green corrugated roof only has a 4m angled roof piece. Theres no 1m 2m 3m just the 4m makes zero sense
