I just saw this. Sorry for the late reply thank you for the kind words I appreciate it. I’m sorry for your lose I hope you make one for your son. These are an emotionally draining thing for me to make. So I can imagine how it is when the family receives them or makes them on their own.

Made me cry. So beautiful. Do you use a router for the nothing where they are connected?
@johnayalawoodworks5276 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words. These are emotionally draining for me to make. I use a table saw to notch out where the join together. But a router can be used if that is all you have available.

Very nice work! I'm not much of a builder so this might sound like a dumb question; is that some type of CNC machine that you used to make the lettering or a router of some type? thanks
@johnayalawoodworks5276 Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. I used a cnc for the lettering on this one. Makes quick work of that part.

Hi There, Just wondering what the cross measurements were and where you marked the horizontal panel to cut out? Thanks in advance
@johnayalawoodworks52762 жыл бұрын
To be 100% honest I do lot quite remember. All of the crosses I have made are each a different size. I do math on my dimensions and cut the pieces accordingly. But I always check to see what looks best to the eye. Sorry it’s not super informative hopefully it helps somewhat.

Good if you have the power tools you use not everyone has them
@johnayalawoodworks5276 Жыл бұрын
Having a shop full of tools definitely helps. But they aren’t necessary to build a simple one. This is just want I use to build mine.

What are the dimensions of the wood you used? Is it 2 by?
@johnayalawoodworks52762 жыл бұрын
The dimensions of the wood in this one were about 1.5” wide and 1” thick. No it is not a 2x4 this black walnut stock I have in the shop. Hopefully that helps.

The description is building a wood side cross would have been nice to take the music off and explain the dimensions and anything else used.
@johnayalawoodworks52762 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the input. Ive built many of these and I’ve gone over everything used and dimensions on my Instagram but I see where you’re coming from. I wanted this to be more of a tribute rather than a how to build. But I’m the future I’ll make one on how I built them and the process.
