Very nice video full of practical info about aluminium tube strength etc. Lovely Scamp, hope you get some good and incident free sailing done now.

Hi Dana. Missed this video somehow. Got it now though. Another great video. Particularly interesting because I have the plans for a Longsteps and am torn between aluminium and wood spars. I am not bothered if there is no taper, bigger masthead volume will only add floatation if I fill it with foam. But, was your aluminium mast anodised and if so did it cost extra? Also. We need to see you and Belafonte having fun out on the ocean waves. It is watching videos of how well the SCAMP sails that got me interested in SCAMP’s big sister. I live in Orkney Scotland which is a group of islands with open ocean all round, so I need seaworthiness and a good turn of speed to get ahead of the weather.

Hi wondering when we get to see you putting Belafont through her paces? Also, I would be interested to hear your views on the aluminium mast. Love how you present your videos.

Thanks Dana, I shall ponder a technology mast as an option. 🤔 I've Yet to see what UK ALU tube availability is like. Please keep posting more of your sailing adventures on Belafonte, we're keenly awaiting!

I definitely will, but it's only just coming in to spring now and winter has been cold and motivation for being in the garage low 😔.
