A manual pad & slappy curb on both sides and a Round rail or 2. Maybe a small ledge on each side.

hey man i really dig the videos ! thanks for all the effort you put into them. iknow it must be tempting to post them as soon as possible, specially with the ammount of time money and willpower that goes into them, that said, i think as a story telling medium you would so benefit from waiting a bit more and finishing all the videos with skating the spot you just built. theres a crescendo in the care that the audience invest in the episode that is very valuable, and dont get me wrong i am definitely coming back for the next episode to see you skate it, 100 percent, but the natural enthusiasm built will have dissipated a bit. all that said, again thanks so much for all the effort you put, you do great great work, and i love seeing you skate, thats my selfish reason too!

I love watching your videos i don't skate no more but i build bike jump trails all about the community spirit. If you got some large pipe so the water can flow and get some bigger wood forms then build upto the edge of the wall like that wall ride at the end of the video and build a half pipe at the top to gain speed

you can also ask the metal shops for trim parts or if the longer piece you get isn't really flat/true, they have big flat table to lay it on and quick/easy to put it flat or get a different piece while there. I used to get hunks of delrin (a plastic) for almost nothing or nothing because a fab shop that was making other parts let me grab off their trim pile. Yeah it's got scrap value, and if they hesitate for metals I always offer them a little better than going scrap rate for trimmed bits in their recovery bins. Usually it's not a problem to do a misc cash receipt or slap a little cash/consumable in their hand and everyone's happy. ;-)

Working with concrete at work we put painters tape on the coping and then duct tape over the painters tape, helps keep the painters tape down and painters tape comes off easily after.

heres a little tip: if you push dry pebbles into the mix when your working at the top or on vertical stuff they will absorb some moisture and help the setting time so you can trowel quicker

you should make a concrete ledge that is like a cement bathtub with a lip on the inside. then while the concrete is still wet you can bore our a hole for a dead lock then buld the lid out of wood so you can store concrete and tools
@mako374214 күн бұрын
Hello from Italy, I'm following the whole series and I'm enjoying it. It's clear that you have good DIY skills, I would like to recommend a Bricklaying trowel (the ones with the square tip) which would make your jobs easier, for example when you have to take the cement to put it in the cracks of the blocks, it's cheap and it makes the job better. I would love to skate this place, greetings :)

doing it this way also allows you to slot in some skating on the dry sections every visit, which adds up to a LOT of mini practice over time...being able to do all the prep and then just come in and slam it all down saves massive amounts of time, effort, and unnecessary effort expended that could be used for some ripping as a reward for your hard and *smart* work.

Just an FYI to cordless power tools. Hercules cordless tools from Harbor Freight are great tools for the money. About half the price for about the same performance as the big brands. If I didnt have the M18 battery system Id probably just have all of my tools as those.

Please do not build like this if you want the concrete to last. Fyi cinder blocks should be staggered & set the right way for more strength. No mesh or rebar and didn't set blocks correctly to fill the webs. No disrespect, zak, if your making a video that everyone can see then they need to know this isn't the correct way build.

Stacking bricks like you did in the first minute there leaves a weak surface with no strength. I doubt that top pad of the 1/4 pipe or bank ledge will last very long as there's no structure to bricks stacked with the flat surface being the top or bottom. Shameful waste of energy and money building something that's not going to survive the abuse of skateboarding
@vjdjwaffelz15 күн бұрын
Open faced down equals strength
@vjdjwaffelz15 күн бұрын
Your bottom layer of the bricks is the only one with structural strength. Watching KZbin build wrong and teach people to do wrong builds saddens me Zach.
@JT-un7dc15 күн бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. Staggering the blocks & filling the webs & some form of rebar or mesh is necessary for strength.
@vjdjwaffelz15 күн бұрын
@@JT-un7dc I honestly had to stop watching cuz it makes me sad to see such awesome potential that's probably not going to last at all.
