I take an angle grinder with a sanding disc and round off that sharp edge. Angle iron will have that weird coating on it too that needs to be sanded off then spray a clear coat, paint, or laquer to keep it from rusting. Hated that weird sharp groove in my trucks too.

Im 49 and skate alone. I used to live close to Brisbane and had a great bunch of mates to skate with. But i moved to the country and there is no one close to my age who skates where i live. I’m lucky that the skate park i have local is completely under cover. I wouldn’t mind having someone to roll with but solo skating is a new chapter in my life and im looking forward to seeing what comes next.

If youve ever watched forged in fire, they always describe the kind of metals they plan to use to get solid/hard/sturdy results. Looks like it matters for skateboarding too.

A heads up, i used to work for a caulking company. When we would grind out expansion joints to caulk, then we would use alcohol and rags to whipe out the joints before caulking them. It helps to bond stronger. Same concept for bondo and any other materials used with concrete.

Day 3 of no smoking weed and the dreams that I'm having are wild. I also completely agree with everything in terms of your experience with quitting, setting a negative association with it, my last joint I just felt so shit after, like telling myself, why are you doing this? Even one day in I felt like my emotional capacity has vastly increased, I'm able to love more, able to focus better, smell more sensitively. I'm struggling with the phlegm build up now, I'm coughing up all the shit in my lungs that has built up over the years, hopefully that goes away soon. I really don't need this in my life. I started at 12, now I'm 24 and a half and I feel like wasting half my life was not worth it, and I aim to never smoke again.

My local city park always has trash, and there's a goddamn trashcan right outside the fence. It's definitely a people problem where some people just drop trash wherever they are. Don't take it personally.

Found a video of yours a while back about a diy in the hills. Definitely inspired me to get back on the board again and well I found a slab of concrete over by an abandoned building that has a rough little diy. After the cops drove by and didn’t care what I was doing I think that set my mind on making the place better. I’m going to get some concrete and mortar and see what I can get done lol. Thanks for the inspiration

Take a cheap smooth cut or second cut metal file to the edge of the angle iron just to round it off a little, using a file will be super quick and nice and quiet. Maybe a little 120 grit sandpaper after the file just to polish it up that extra bit would help too.

Hit up rob! those spots are sick..have a chill holiday and new year man
@clevestinson79963 күн бұрын
The problem with the angle iron is due to the metal being stronger/denser than the metal your truck is made of. The edge of the ledge cuts into your truck. Easiest fix is taking grip tape or an angle grinder with a polishing disk to the tip of the edge of the metal until it’s got a little curve to it.

Thank you!

The Mohs scale of hardness, if its cutting your trucks the angle is harder. Once you've got that notch it's probably just locking in to that spot. Definitely think about taking the edge off with a linishing disc as said above. I love your DIY stuff, it's just so different to the UK.

I'll be honest I'm sorta on the same track as you as far as being a socal kid, started smoking weed in high school and still do now at 37...I am also an alcoholic, its far worse than marijuana has ever been to me and I wish I could stop drinking....Smoking weed wise, the term addiction has come up in my life, I question if it really is an addiction or just something I enjoy. I think it is a mild addiction, but when I think of other addictions and how traumatizing they are, well marijuana just aint that. I don't need to wake up and smoke, I don't need to smoke at all before I go to work and I can wait all day until I get home...I'm not a functioning alcoholic either, I wait to smoke and drink until the job is done...Unless it's my day off, then fuck it whenever I feel like it. Heres my real problem and clearly why it is an addiction. I'm getting sick, my kidneys do not agree with my lifestyle even though the doctors said they are fine...Hmm weird. I have cut back a lot, but in total I do believe i need to stop but that is the hardest thing to do. I can wait all day, but once I'm home, especially if I had a rough day, I'm getting fucked up. Hopefully I can find a way out of this fuckin hole I've dug. I'm glad to find your videos, very therapeutic and interesting to hear you are on a similar path.

Smoked heavy for 32 years, every day unless there was a very temporary drought. Been clean for 4½ years now, and just can't fathom how I was such a slave to it. Having to have it to do, or enjoy, anything is so relatable. Life is much more better without it. More able to appreciate things, and of course the vivid dreams 🙂
