There's gonna be a fight over who gets your hand made and signed tools someday! Great videos Kevin.

Nice plane. I hope it is a pleasure to use. More correctly what you have built is a rabbet plane based on the steepness of the bedding angle and the blade being used bevel down. A true shoulder plane would have a bed angle of around 15 degrees with a blade in a bevel up orientation. Doesn't mean your plane is any less beautiful !! Enjoy

Awesome! But why do you need an extra piece of wood as push stick, doesn't that little plastic thingy works as good as they say after all?

You do great work. You should make more videos. I have to ask. What camera do you use? And what lighting? Very good quality video.

Thanks. I'm working on my next one but winter is always hard to get out in the shop :) I actually do all filming and editing on my iPhone 6 Plus. It's crazy how good the quality is and its great because I don't have to upload the raw video on a computer and edit separately. As for lighting, I installed 3 double bulb fluorescent lights which have a 5000k color. I've been very happy with it. Thanks for watching.

Kevin, trying to make a similar plane. What is the maple grain direction? Is it a flat or vertical orientation at the finish? And what are the dimensions? Tanx for the video.

remind me why you cant use regular plane for small stuff

This type of plane is mostly for getting into corners. Other planes cant because the blade stops 1/4 ish from the sides. This type you can get up close into the corners
