Nice haul, Mike! Being a "power tool guy" I always thought it was called a shoulder plane because you had to really put your shoulder into it... ;)

Looks like an enjoyable project! I am however surprised that a maker of plane blades would call that a shoulder plane, when more correctly it is a rabbet plane. A shoulder plane typically has a bed angle of about 15 degrees with the blade oriented bevel side up . Not a big thing but there is a difference.
