Looks great. I don't think new cedar boards would have improved the look. I haven't seen that way of hanging a gate before. Thanks for sharing. I will try to remember that for future projects.

I'd add a flat board on top of the top rail to redirect the rain away from the metal rollers

You could even use two boards to form an L which can also hide the rail itself (thinking of doing a similar setup inside the house as a hidden door/sliding bookcase)
